    Wasn't the fire brigade advice of staying put not the correct advice in the situation of a tower block designed the way of grenfell - sans the flamable blanket?
    My take on the whole JRM thing is experts tell me to stay put, but I'd not listen. :oldconfused:

    Well... leaving, against the advice of experts and without thought of the consequences is right up his alley

    IIRC the advice was/would've been sound if the cladding hadn't been flammable... IIRC the fire services were also slow to tell people to gtfo when it became apparent the advice to stay put wasn't appropriate.


    But ultimately what people took issue with was JRM's comments came across as 'I wouldn't have died because i'm smarter than you', compounded by and Bridgen's 'clarification' of 'JRM is smarter than you'.

    ^Yea this is what I thought. Obviously hindsight gives us the knowledge that staying put was a bad idea.

    Yea I got that, though i still prefer my interpretation of not needing to listen to experts because my common sense trumps it. It's very brexity. Personally I thought the benefits MP thingy was worse that JRMs blunder.
