The 3600 has less cores but still out benchmarks the 2700 in a lot of usage scenarios! And until the 2700 just dropped to £149 it was cheaper. Now though? I'd be tough to call on it.

Having had to buy bought DJI Mavic Pro 2 weeks ago and the tumble dryer conking out at last, that's me done for this year on PC stuffs.

 

I'm at the point where my NAS is technically more powerful than my desktop. My NAS is a Ryzen 5 2600 with 16GB, my desktop is a i7 4790K with 32GB. They're a close call. BUT my desktop is MATX and my NAS has a full ATX, and I don't want to deal with going Intel to AMD or reinstalling, and I don't have the physical space for a full ATX case, and I like my MATX case and and and .... so I live with it

Was awake from 8am yesterday to about mid-day today, before having a little nap for a few hours. I'll be back up at 8am tomorrow to do the same thing over again! (context) Nearly there though:

Not ruining, just upsetting a wee bit.
My Asus Z97-P & i7 4790K died yesterday due to a short circuit which I'm a 100% responsible for.
I'm not pissed about it because I had been given the stuff in exchange for a few lifts. It cost me about 2 maybe 2½ tanks of gas + time.
So I brought out of mothball the old 2500K & ASRock Z77 Extreme 6 ( the later was @TheGreatSatan giveaway 2013. Hewll yeah! ).
I feel absolutely no difference in Windows.

 

Waiting on my mouse and keyboard to get here and I'm using a laptop KB and broken mouse in the meantime. While trying to get GW2 dailies for the ascended/legendary stuff in a few days. Soonest my mouse looks like it will get here is Friday. Really pissed at some of this shipping.

 

Rear car window seems to be stuck down.
Looks like I might have to take the door panel off to sort it??

Hopefully I can try to get it sorted whilst at work as it's parked on the street at night.

 

In my experience if they're stuck down they're no longer connected to the mechanism; you might be able to grab the edge and pull it up and wedge / tape it in place. Not a proper fix but it'll keep the rain out.

 

Tried pulling on it when I arrived at work and it didn't seem to want to budge, going to pop out soon and have another look. It did move up a couple of cm but the handle is veeeeery hard to turn and so I stopped as didn't want to break something (more than it may already be broken!)

 

It's not really ruining, but it is annoying.

So, for this christmas horse**** I have to find something that is both useless and funny for some weird take on secret santa.

The objective is to gift something that is both funny, and useless from things you already own.

But having just moved, I threw out most of my useless **** and, of course, the rest of it is now in storage.

And how something is meant to be both funny and useless, I've no idea.

The most useless funny thing I think I can still put my hands on is a recreation of Jules Winnfield's driving license. But it's only funny if you know who that character is I guess. And I kind of still want that for my BMF wallet..

 

Just buy something cheap and make it look used. I'm sure you won't be the only one, even if no-one owns up to it.

 

I'm tempted to make a small (As in 0.96") screen run a marque text of "No", because I have a pair of 0.96" screens (That are useless to me) and a few spare arduino nanos (That aren't useless, but they are doing FA.. That's close enough right?). I'm sure I could find a plastic box if I tried hard enough.

Indeed. I saw a trailer for Ronny Chieng's standup "Asian Comedian Destroys America!" the other day and I've not often identified with someone so much in such a short space of time.

 

Give them an IDE hard drive. It's useless, then point at them and laugh, making it funny.
