So here we go into a new mod adventure. Trying out a material that has seen next to no use when it comes to case modding. Is the project doomed before we even begin? I guess we will find out. Travelling on a path where Black meets White and Earth meets the Air, along with an old friend, the (somewhat) small and very humble cube, Thermaltake Suppressor F1. Let's get cubed!
Hello again everybody! Today i managed to create a rough sketch of the project. The main purpose of this is to get proper measurements in order to create an exoskeleton for the case, because i am going to use only the main chassis of the Suppressor F1 and 2 of the 4 side panels. I am waiting on some products to arrive and slowly but steady i am going to update you on the progress, so keep an eye on the project!!
Hello again! Its Time to check the hardware i am going to put in the case. Most of the parts are coming from my old mini itx rig with some aesthetic updates here and there. Hello everybody, I want to wish a healthy, happy and creative new year to you and your loved ones. The moment came to unveil the main material for this mod. Aluminium (or Aluminum) to the left and marble to the right! We all know aluminium and the fact that is commonly used in pc modding. But marble! i have been working around marble for many years now and always wanted to use it in a case mod, so i guess the time has come to try it out!!! Stay tuned for the next update to find out if it is actually something that can be done!
Ahoy lads!! Over the last 10 days i made some progress with the mod. I cut the marble and the aluminium pieces to shape, drilled the holes needed and glued the marble pieces in order to create the base/front of the case. The result looks like this Now it needs a lot of polishing/brushing and the outside shell of our project will be complete. Back to Work for now!!
So far so good. To be honest i really like the way this is turning out, and i am usually pretty picky!! The only downside when it comes to marble is that it doesn't forgive even the slightest of mistakes.
Hello everybody!! I am BACK!! Its over 6 months now and i just had the time to upload some old photos of this forgotten project . I have installed some custom-made filters on the front and bottom of the case and test fitted the RGB lights reflecting on them. I was and still am in the process of moving to another place where i will finally have more room to work on projects and i will have a better looking desk etc ( but then covid), so be patient and more photos and details about the project will be uploaded. Thank you all!!
