Balls. All I want in a phone is compact size and decent camera. Sony have gone all weird making really elongated sets, nothing properly compact since the xz2, my current phone. The search goes on.

That is odd, my 7.1 got upgraded to 10 quite some time ago.

Not had a patch since the November 2019 one though.

It's scheduled for mid-Q1 2020, according to some roadmaps of questionable origin. Apparently HMD's concentrating on updating the older devices first, then the newer stuff.

28m² of wooden flooring. Turns out you're meant to glue it all together yourself?

Simple and straightforward, nothing to go wrong and, when fully closed, it reads bang on zero.

Does it have tounge and groove edges and they recommend gluing to hold it together better (like Karndean floors) or something else?

It's tongue and groove solid oak (suspiciously cheap?) and the recommendation is you glue it down with Sikabond T54 to a plywood substrate, but don't glue the tongues etc.

From what I've seen and heard you (and I) don't want Android 10 from HMD/Nokia. I had the 7.1 before (the USB port decided to just not detect a cable when one was in but every time none was in) and got the Android 10 update. No more WiFi for me at home, because ... reasons. It's a known bug, there's a workaround (set your WiFi to WPA + WPA2 isntead of just WPA2) which doesn't work for me, and the phone can't delete pictures and videos you take anymore. Not all of them, just some. Also, there's no way to safely flashback to Android 9 (I know of).

    Odd.

My 7.1 still works. I'd be lying if i said it didn't have the odd janky moment, i wonder if that's why there's been a delay in patches and the rollout.

Well, that's something to look forward to, I guess(!)

Not that I'm unfamiliar with updates that break a bunch of stuff: my last handset was a Huawei...

I've just switched off the auto updates in the developer options, just in case the next Android One update makes it more janky.

Sounds like it's not just Nokia specific.

The Redux are basically just their last gen fans at a knock down price. A good way of getting the most out of the rnd spent and great value for us. The grey is also dead sexy and very unique (AFAIK).

After spending all week last week mulling over how to get rear speakers without all of the wires and mess I concluded that I would need a wireless sender and receiver, and then ideally some powered speakers so I don't have to find a home for a whopping great amp. Then I would need stands, wall brackets and god knows what else.

    Screw it, sound bar.

Cost me £49 brand new and can be bolted straight to the wall. It's not ideal, but it's better than no sound coming from behind you at all. At least there won't be lots of missing audio, plus it's very easy to put up and will be much tidier than any wall mounted speakers (two sets of wires and holes instead of one).
