How are people's daily routines being affected? Give us a rundown! I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of enjoying it. Here's my routine: 0400: Wake up, if I haven't already done so. 0400-0430: Breakfast: Sometimes I do a bit of work whilst eating, otherwise just general internet browsing. 0430-0600: Maybe some more work, dealing with any paperwork, Lego sorting/building. 0600-0700: An hour on the cross trainer in the garage whilst watching half a film (typically something high adrenaline, like Marvel) on the tablet. 0700-0730ish: Recovery, changing into my dressing gown and some food - only a little though! I'm a bit disgusting and don't shower as it would send me to sleep! 0730-1200ish: Working, internet browsing, grazing, 1200-1300ish: Lunch (usually cooked in the oven), maybe chipping away at work and just internet browsing. Might watch 20 minutes of something on Netflix (currently watching Black Lagoon). 1300ish-1430,1530ish: A bit of gardening - aided with a bottle of Henry Weston's oak aged cider. At some point I need to do a little housework, but I'm quite tidy anyway, so no real need. 1530ish-1900ish: More work, internet browsing, grazing, calling friends and family to see how they're doing. 1900ish-2000,2030ish: Shower, supper and watching something, or some gaming, or some Lego time. 2030ish: Bed! Once or twice a week I'll pop out after the hour on the cross trainer to go shopping, which takes me an hour. I'm glad for the structure - otherwise I might end up nocturnal. EDIT: Probably obvious, but the engineering company I work for has instigated working from home unless business critical.
I'm still rocking the 9-5 from home, so my daily routine hasn't changed. Except that I'm wearing less shirts, and more slippers/house shoes. 6-6:30 is getting up and human washing. 7-8, which would normally be driving time is now staring at the computer. 8-16:00 is work. Although other stuff gets done too because.. Working from home. 16-17:00 is maybe work, most likely mo' 'tube browsing 17-18/18:30 is debating eats and cooking said eats 19:30-21:00 is most likely TV show watching. 21:00 is mo' human cleaning. Teeth and the like. Depends whether dishwasher needs emptying. 21:30-23:00 phone internet, 'cause it's different, and then sleep. Saturday is slightly delayed, with hoovering and dusting instead of the first bit of work, then internet and any "loud" project work. Because making noise on Sunday is, apparently, verboten. Sunday is games/reading/music/lying on the floor face down screaming/cake/quiet project work like soldering. I'm both envious and not of people who're not having to do ****. On the one hand, they probably aren't getting paid. On the other hand, they don't have to do anything.
So far it's a bit like being unemployed for me, minus the evidence of looking for work for 8 hours each day bit anyway.
I usually do 7:15 to ~16:00 at work. 6:30 leave house, 5:00 get back. Now it's: ~6:30 get up, dress toddler and myself, morning stuff ~7:00 sit at breakfast table, look after toddler while my wife has a lay-in. Laptop at the table to respond to messages and look as though I've started work ~7:30 wife comes down to take over I escape into study to do actual work ~12:00 comes out for lunch ~16:00 finish work. Take the dog toddler out for a walk. Rest is all as normal. So far, I'm liking working from home, saves loads of time from my commute, more time with my son. I also get more work done and less distractions from colleagues.
How many shirts do you wear in normal circumstances for work? As for me, life is much as normal at the moment. Just can't go and get any wood for things I had intended to make but, with the plus side of less people and traffic about when I take the dog out. I met nobody in this morning's hour out for permitted exercise and only one person yesterday.
Normally, for work, I wear white shirts and black trousers - So it's mainly white shirts I'm not wearing. T-shirts for the win!
Daily routine hasn't changed too much for me, removed the commute (which was only 15-20mins). Being more flexible with time, sorting flat chores etc during the day if I fancy a break or whatnot but at the moment the time daily routine hasn't changed all that much. Trying to go shopping less, just once or twice a week instead of being happy to pop in every other day to pick the odd bit up (only a 5mins walk).
Daily routine 8:00AM - Wake up shower and brekfast 9:00AM - log into work laptop 1:00PM - Lunch unless theres an issue with work (has been every day) 5:30PM - Change activity code for work to not ready 6:00PM - spin on static trainer bike 7:00PM - Dinner 10:00PM - Officially sign off from work (usually been playing CoD) 11:00PM - Sleep Rinse and repeat (also now working 6 days a week with Sunday as "standby")
Both true for me, though I do miss them as they're a good bunch. I'm saving a lot of money on commuting too. It's all about wearing a dressing gown and slippers until after lunch.
Just looking out for my mother. It's not easy. I didn't sleep well for a few days. Turns out last night was the 9 hour-er. So I got up and went downstairs only to find her on a step ladder trying to change the battery in her clock ffs. After scolding her up I went. I have a feeling I'm going to have to end up tying her up. She always was stubborn.
Life as normal for me too (well as close as to make no difference. Get up, check on cows in the barn due to calve in the next 2 weeks (1st timers or they would be calving in the fields). Exercise dogs. Move rabbits. Release Cockerels. Check and move main herd. Check and feed bulls as required (in a small field with a hay feeder). Check and feed lame skinny barn cow and 3 calves in other barn. General farm jobs. Lunch More farm jobs. Check and move main herd. Dinner Round up hens and cockerels and put them to bed. Check on cows in barns. Finish. As we are farmers we have a "permit" to carry on work as normal so really can go anywhere that farm business requires, farm suppliers anywhere on our land etc. so not really limited at all from what I normally do. The only real difference is only one of us can go shopping at a time now but as we have a large cellar, large pantry and 3 freezers including one walk in one, we don't have to go out that often and in fact haven't stocked up since this virus business started.
Never really took to dressing gowns. Although I do wear house shoes (slippers) all day. Which is comical, to me, as my new boots arrived about three days before I started working from home and have sat there doing SFA since.
Trying to stick to my usual routine but throwing in some extra execise to make up for not walking to work. Have the laptops setup at a "work" area so we can separate work and personal time. Weekdays: up at normal time ~ 6am 30-40min on spin bike. shower and dres as normal for work. start at 8am doing reports for business continuity. break for lunch at 12, back at desk for 1. work until 4:30. do some planks/strength work and a 20 min spin bike. shower and get in to my civvies to relax and end the wok day. Weekends: my usual stuff bar the canal walk/supermarket shop. Hope you guys are all safe and being careful! S.
My routine, post-sh!tstorm, is the same as it has been for the last 10+years... get up (most ~8am, recently), sit in front of PC or TV all my waking hours (interspersed with various housework duties), then back to bed.
Mon-fri: Wake up at 9am Work phone on at 11am Work phone off at 3pm Go to work (commute is about 120 metres, I walk) Pick, pack and chuck orders Back home around 3:30pm Play games and do whatever I want until whenever I want Weekend: Whatever whenever
My routine is same as before because of working from home office for years. The only changes: i am not required to go to workplace for meetings instead of going to grocery store every day i go there once in 3 days instead of going to restaurants etc i order food via delivery
~9-10 Get up/make breakfast 10 to ~12/13 Eat/work (mainly answering emails/etc) 13 to ~17/18 Do some chores/renovations at home 17-18 to 22 Eat/Work 22-24 Game/etc 00-2 Work (if I havent finished something) or continue previous 2-3 Go to sleep Honestly I'm enjoying it so far, can do most of the stuff that I would otherwise need to do during weekend (because of the noise/daylight) and not staying late at the office because I cant be bothered to commute home. A lot less laundry. The only downside - because of the south facing windows its almost 30C inside during the day...
Corona Virus Daily Routine sounds like a range of products from Neutrogena or Loreal. This really hasn't changed my routine at all, this has basically been my life for 6 months. I have a slightly new routine for physio though, which takes up about 3 1/2 hours a day. 08:00 wake up, get coffee, take codeine and pregabalin, watch latest pootubes 09:00 30min stretch on my front 10.30 1min quad stretches, 5 on each leg, alternating between right and left 12:00 30min front stretch 13:00 take codeine with lunch 15:00 30min front stretch 18:00 take codeine, 30min front stretch 19:00 take pregabalin and amitriptyline 19:30 quad stretches 21:00 front stretch In between all the stretching I play some division 2, started watching it's always sunny in Philadelphia, been sorting some stuff out for the moddng competition and will start the mod this week. New tasks to complete this week: sort out new solicitor after telling original one to piss off (there's only so much incompetence you can take), sort out benefits, inform current physio and doctor I've lost my private healthcare, request, request gp refer me for NHS physio, request copies of records from Spire Parkway and physio.
