C&C: Red Alert It's still brilliant, completed the soviet campaign then the allied in the last couple of weeks. Some really hard missions as well on normal difficulty. There's a neat installer here that provides the latest patched version and it works on modern pc's no problem. Although full resolution just makes everything tiny!
I'm still an Origin Premier member even though I can't be bothered to play much on there, I cancelled it when Jedi Fallen order was released. EA gave me the £89.99 refund and I can still access all Premium games but I just not in the mood for them.
Black Mesa 1.0 I started Xen, but left it so long, they updated it, invalidating my saved game Never mind, they've actually refined everything (again), so I've started from the beginning again. Probably the best FPS ever made.
Played through that. Now playing HL2 @ 300 FPS lol. I'm not usually one for stupid framerates, but I have to say it's made the game very different. Combat is waaay easier. I'll then head onto ep 1 and 2, as is the ritual.
XCOM 2: War of the Chosen My god this game hates you. I'm on the mission to take out the Chosen assassin and damn this thing kicks your arse... I'm save-scumming like crazy and I feel absolutely no shame about it!
Oh, yes, those guys! If you haven't played WotC I won't spoil it, but the fights are... not fun... Not fun at all. I think the Alien Rulers are individually tougher than the Chosen, but the Chosen can cause you a lot more problems than just being hard to kill. I had a mission the other day with both The Lost and mid/high-tier aliens, and then one of the chosen warped in. That took over an hour and I ended up with over 85 kills at the end of it.
Five hours this took me. Five hours... I ended up loading an earlier save and trying from scratch with a different loadout.
Just bought HL2 Ep1 for the first time this evening. Played HL2 Deathmatch with the boys tonight, much more fun for me than HL.
Dead Island with Tre, and some Insurgency the other night. Which reminded me how crap I am at those sorts of games lol. But yeah, still in love with Dead Island after several playthroughs. A great way to relieve stress
Final Fantasy VII Remake. Only 2hrs in so far. Combat is a little weird but I'm getting used to it. I know the original FFVII battle system inside and out, so it's just a little weird getting used to the dynamic real-time battles in this version. You can set the combat to 'classic' mode and keep it turn-based, but that jams the difficulty setting to Easy and I don't want to play it on Easy mode...
