So there's a LOT more to this. My stepdaughter's grandmother is from this very neighborhood. GBI has arrested them. Apparently the local PD has been covered up in credible threats to the investigators. In addition, the local PD has to invite the GBI in, or they have to forfeit jurisdiction, or a whole host of other things can happen, but essentially there are ways for this to be held up-not an optional issue, but a bureaucratic one.

That said, it's generally considered dangerous to exist while black in this county before. Now I shudder to think about what it would be like.

 

Didn't know what the 'GBI' was, so Googled it and ended up finding this article:
