Today was a day of sand and prime ... high fill sand ...prime some more... spot putty again... the really really boring stuff........ but it's really nice to get rid of all that white and clear For now these parts will just sit for a week or two, to allow everything to sink back and settle before a final wet rub and finally some colour One last thing was to add some extra deep guides to the base this just help to locate and hold the spine in place during assembly. Group shot ! Then it's all back together again to finish off the front and rear.
First the good news My mates over @ MWAVE have jumped on board with some much needed hardware for this mod. I dealt with Mwave back building Lightblade and it's a pleasure to have these guys back on board for this mod. I got some work done on the front end... stay with me here... cause im ganna post this and then change things up a bit. Ive decided to do at least 2 maybe 3 different fronts for the case.... i'm keeping it as my daily driver and i imagine i'll do more fronts and upgrades over time. Think we were pretty much up to here before i started prepping for paint. With the 2 outer most sections done i started and all the thinner sections. To fill the gap i ended up doing this 2 or 3 more times..... router profiling is so bloody time consuming. Finally!.... A bit more work to even the tops. I wanted this to not only swivel down but be able to clip off to make the whole front swap thing easier. The idea is the small hinges will snap lock onto the threaded bar. These will glue in between the fixed grills. Two per side. Paint. A bit premature as few of the bars are still proud but for now it gives a pretty good idea of the end look. Adding in the small top corner sections help to add some shape. Still a lotta work to do to finish this front. And then...... A spanner in the works!
3 alternate front panels Now That second one needs a lotta work the 3rd was just a simple phanteks evolv case copy Thanks Cheaps Yup! you always see it commin , even before i do
2 points. 1. looking amazing can see the potential for all three thou I like 1 and 2 better. 2. Your an Aussie holy crap I had no idea which part of our occasionally wonderful country?
'love the shape it takes ... front grill is awesome , like all those complicated angled parts ... can't stop being stunned by your creativity in design and your accuracy with tools
Thanks mate Im a Sydneysider looking to go top end soon tho finally retire and case mod all day Thanks as always kim Your always supportive and it really means alot Thanks MADPC it's deff been a challenge to find the time for this one, be it's been the most rewarding for me
Small update for today I started the sanding process on the front grill, this should get all the lines pretty level and even looking. The router gets em pretty cloned .. but one small bump the first one becomes a mountain by the last... And a bit more playing around with the other one........
Solution n°1 black painted is amazing !! I think that solution n°2, once completed/painted, could be interesting
