 Hopefully just covid traffic this time, Prometheus.
@ Jean - Sorry. It's a habit to point out stuff like that. I've had to design stuff to survive shipping a lot.

It was a constructive and valid comment, even if this case won't be shipped, with my other hobbies I got more and more concerned with the durability of the things I craft.
It's something I'm gonna check for my sake, you just noticed it in the photos before I told about the other layer.

But I'm going to look into it in the next days, I have almost finished the shells plates but after that my GPU has the priority.

It gave me some BSOD because It's getting too hot in the last few days, I didn't complete it so I'm gonna craft the back of the cooler so it work at the max efficiency, maybe I'll get the chance to post a photo of it when it's complete.

I'm going to tell you a fun story now, it's about the GPU cooler obviously .

So the case I'm crafting has the space to use almost any GPU, and here start the funny part.

I crafted the rest of the support for the back of the cooler with aluminium, and then I used two Plexiglas panels to make a temporary back cover, now the GPU with cooler is 280 mm.

So I went to put it on again, on the temporary PC case I'm using since the start of the project, and it's too big for it :hehe:.

So tomorrow I'm going to clean the new frame, and I'll start using it as open air for a couple of days, thankfully I didn't have the need complete the GPU cooler before :hehe:.

Using it as open air, will allow me to turn it on and off from the MB switch controls, so I don't have to rush the remote switch case build.

And one last thing, my brother probably found a name for the new case, it made me laugh so I could call it that way.

I'm going to update you tomorrow.

So the little beast is roaring again, I'll update you later as I need to do a couple small modifications to the GPU cooler to get a perfect fit, during the day :dremel:.

Now that I've been able to squeeze everything inside the case, I'm more than happy I took the bigger case path.

I'll leave the acrylic back on the GPU, because it is so close to the PSU that it's probably better to have non conductive materials there :hehe:.

:hehe: Hi all I do apologize for not updating on Thursday, I had a lot of small modifications to be done to get a good cable routing, and some correction to the GPU cooler that would touch the frame when mounting it in.

Here a couple of shots of the GPU cooler

I'm going to update the log this evening with some shots of the full main frame with the hardware on, I'll need to add a small plastic lip to hide a couple of cables, but not considering those I can show it in good shape as an open air case.

Now I'm going back to the garage as I'm finishing off the metal part of the shells, so I can start with the leather sewing.

After that in the next days I'll finish off the shells leather, then the only thing missing should be the remote switch case and the metal scale that cover the top of the handle mounting plates.

    Have a nice day.

    Fantasticofantasi!

Did you craft all the cooling System (heatpipes, dissipators)?

    What is the GPU Model?

    Well done Jean !

The GPU is an MSI R7 360 OC, nothing super dandy that I'm going to change in the next few months, but the stock cooler was A super noisy, B not extremely beautiful.

I recovered the copper tube and the added finned aluminium part, from an old Zalman cooler I had back in the day on my first scratch build if memory serves me right.
The external aluminium frames were crafted like the rest of the case.

I like very much this log, you think to paint or leave the natural aluminium ?

I very like your approach of crafting by using old stuff and build from almost nothing !

As I always say, scraps and useless stuffs are tresors !
