Well, the project has slowed a bit . . . working on getting the four distribution panels into 3D vector format and arrange for CNC time.

So, have been making arrangements for many of the fabrication tasks - and there's a bunch . . . looking at Vector file work, CNC & bit selection plan, Laser tasks, Vinyl cutter, 3D printer ... sourcing Hydrographic materials, and of course, getting ready for serious cable sleeving - all of these depending on each other for proper sizing  . . . and once these are mostly done, can then move on to tube alignment, fabrication & bending ... :thumb:

Meanwhile, working some of the little tasks of acquiring miscellaneous parts and readying some details to realize the vision. :naughty:

    Here is just one . . .

While I am super happy to be working with the Cougar Conquer case, the Cougar branding on the glass side panels seems a bit over-the-top - so need to mute this just a bit ...

Not sure how this has been applied
Originally thought it was just printed or silkscreened on ... but it seems that it is something else - looks like some sort of heat or chemical transfer. So I am scraping the white material off of the inside application. This generally works - but leaves an opaque impression on the glass (doesn't seem to be adhesive, but rather some resulting etching)

so, with an opaque background, the logo disappears . . . but, yet to be seen exactly how it will present in the end - muted for sure though!

... been working on the details for the four acrylic panels - 2 Reservoirs and 2 Distribution

Since each needs to be specifically placed and ports need to be dead-on in order to hit plan, as they say ... the Devil is in the Detail :eyebrow:

Fortunately, I have the support of a good friend - Søren Kirkegaard of Nordic 3D design https://www.facebook.com/Nordic3Ddesign/ and the CAD files are coming together. Way more details going into these critters then may be initially apparent due to each piece requiring unique 3D positioning, exacting fitting placement, some unique etching, and requirements for edge lighting. So plenty of challenges to be solved (and, of course, that's where the real fun is :thumb:)

... a bit of a diversion in order to begin to get ready for some cabling work

as usual, will be trying something a bit different
(custom cables are totally cool - but for my projects, not a big fan of the typical Big Ol' Flat 16AWG, cable combed effort that rarely ends up with good alignment [weird twists and angulation] ;) . . . so, let's see )

Holy Crap !!! . . . can there be any truth in this chatter?

Is anyone else aware of a Flame-out issue with Corsair Node Pro controllers? . . . just today running into net discussion about the scope of this potentially 'smoking-hot' problem :oldconfused:

Inquiring minds need to know :eeek:

6 (or more) high -draw fans on a single 18awg wire? Sounds believable to me.
You could potentially be pulling 8+ amps through it at full speed.

As I understand it (and I am engineering impaired!) max throughput for a SATA connector is 4.5 amps ... but this thing is only driving LEDs (fan spin is handled otherwise)???

[BTW, I was happy to get smarter after always wondering - why the pump people never config'd with SATA connectors rather that big Molex 4-pin]
