The shower tray was starting to turn into a paddling pool. Fed up of half clearing it (it's just a 60mm diameter shallow drain unit with small holes) thought i'd give this a go. £3 from Screwfix, now flowing better than it ever did after about 30 seconds work.

    Things like this please me.

A mate got one of those to sort out the drain in his bath. Unfortunately, whoever plumbed it in used some el-cheapo push-fit pvc pipe, and he was a tad vigorous in his efforts to clear the restriction. Ended up parting one of the joints and subsequently ruined his kitchen ceiling - He said there was water running off the light fitting.

Pro tip: do a visual inspection of the pipework afterwards.

Would do but it'd mean taking out the shower.

I was wary of that and did several gentle plunges, TBH I was so out of the regular 'bash it till it works' mentality that i'm amazed it cleared it.

No water coming through the ceiling so that's a plus.

It had been a gradual build up so it was probably gunked up shower gel and the like, didn't need much moving thankfully.

I haven't tried that one. A lot of folk give blended whisky a hard time but, then, most of them haven't tried the likes of Haig's Dimple.

I have no issues with blended scotch whisky at all. I'm snobby and I won't touch anything by Johnnie Walker or Jack Daniel's (and don't even try to get me to drink anything from that pit of vileness that is Jim Beam), but other than that it is mainly about taste and price for me.

This particular whisky has quite an interesting story (read it here) behind it, so I just had to try it.

So, we found some whisky, then, marketing got hold of it ? Nah. just kidding I know a lot of effort goes into it.

Almost 100% accurate, I'd wager.

For me, this is just insanely interesting. I have been a HUGE Lovecraft fan for about two decades now (out of three and a half decades I've spent on this Earth so far in total) and I do share his interest and awe reading about the great adventures of the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration. This find, to me, is just so special and an expedition to the Antarctic is definitely something I'd love to do during my life. Weird as it may sound, this whisky gives me an ever so tiny sliver of the feeling of being part of that age of insane(ly brave) adventurers and unprecedented wealth of new discoveries in such short time.

A large poster of the Cyberpunk Neomilitarism poster that was in the 'goodies' pack. I say large. 70x100.

I do not have a place for it on the walls, but.. That's a problem for future me.

Would be interested to hear how you get on with these :)

My desk drawer has no lock and I don't fancy drilling holes in it to stop tiny fingers rooting around in it
