Case Mod - Complete ⭐ Project Interceptor (AH T600 Tactical Assault) Special Extreme Mod.

Hi guys.

After the adventure to the international competition at Thermaltake CaseMOD Invitational Season 2 2019, here we are with a new project.

The Project Interceptor (AH T600 Tactical Assault) Special Extreme Mod.

Concept art, 3D design and renderings by Y.Gabrielli Casemod.

Based on Thermaltake's monstrous AH T600 I decided to bring out a war machine.

Many changes to be made and I already anticipate that in addition to the cap with mechanized opening by means of an electromechanical actuator, the two lateral submachine guns will also be in motion.

Of course, the painting will follow in the footsteps of the Project Stealth (those who followed him know well what it is).

To start we will see together the video with all the stages of design and 3D CAD drawing and all the final renderings.

I work in CAD extremely difficult as we will see in the video, since I had to practically sculpt the whole AH T600 from practically 0 on a solid starting from two-dimensional images, and then create all the custom parts modified with a myriad of details such as custom sleeve cables .
This is because it was not possible to have the original designs of the case because they were rightly covered by industrial secrecy.

Let's immediately dispel the plastic issue.

The case is an iron block that has little or no plastic except for the side airboxes and the front part of the shell which are made of 3 mm thick rigid plastic.

Its weight is approximately 18 kg empty.

Huge dimensions, in line with a 900 D.

Welcome back guys.

After a long time due to this damned Corona virus we resume this work and the worklog.

Step 1.

Serious work begins.

In these photos we will see all the mechanization through electromechanical actuators of the lateral machine guns in test pre-assembly.

As you can see I built the whole system from 0 and as guides I used 16/12 tubes for the guide casing and 12/10 tubes as a piston.

I also integrated gas pistons which, in addition to stabilizing the movement which is very fluid, without jerks and linear, also serve as a support for the machine guns, keeping everything very stable and in axis.

The actuator that will open the top cover is also mounted on the test.

The details and the explanation on this detail in the next post.

Later we will also see the machine guns completely disassembled and see how they were built.

Step 1 Update.

Cover MB tray.

In these photos we will see the realization of the cover of the MB tray.
Note in particular the relief plate with holes for the passage of the 24-pin ATX sleeve cables.

We will also see the trial pre-assembly of the Maximus Extreme XII together with the Pacific DP 100 D5-Plus distro plate
of which we will also see photos in detail.

A scabby job given the many adjustments to be made for the overall dimensions, the holes, the slots etc. We worked with millimeters in order to position the components perfectly.

Step 1 update.

Test pre-assembly of the parts made in step 1.

In these photos we will see in detail the test pre-assembly of the MB tray, of the PSU with its cover and of the front radiator after having created its internal grid and the covering of its support on both sides.

It starts from the base of the frame after having completely dismantled the case where we will see in detail the positioning of the two electromechanical actuators for the movement of the 2 lateral submachine guns.

Finally we will see a first taste of the realization of the cockpit (it will be a nice detail once finished).

Agressive, massive, impressive , I can barely imagine the amount of work involved with CAD, sketching those complicated angled parts by yourself to match the case dimentions... ...

 

I love the angles on this case, I'm so looking forward to the finished build!
Btw, what type of glue do you use for the acrylic?

 

Yes Kim a lot of time of work in 3D CAD on Scketchup.
The design in CAD request a myriad of layers for every single parts made from 0.
At the end of the work on Sketch another lot of hours of work for the final render.
