The prospect of being debt-free is dizzying, but what really blows my mind is how easily achievable it is and what it could do for us.

I had a much longer post written out but TBH it felt like a total humblebrag.
Here's a TL;DR instead: it's OK take credit for yourself and it's OK to get help along the way.

It doesn't matter how big the goal was, the important part is that you achieved it. You might have had help along the way but the achievement is yours. If you feel guilty or conflicted then pay it forward: help others achieve their goals, no matter how small or insignificant those goals might seem to you.

First day back at work - a change is as good as a rest, and all that.

I'm sure the suck will return in due course but, for now, it felt good.

After some faffing around finding out that, apparently, every key on the keyboard does something in Arma 3, I've got 2km shots nailed.

I couldn't play agame like that, it's inconceivable that I might remember the controls.

That's why I play quake: WASD, space, left mouse, right mouse, shift, maybe in rare cases ctrl. Obviously weapon binds as well, although you could use your mouse wheel (pro tip: you don't).

Arma is.. Special with its key bindings, that's for sure.

I've got the scope adjustments, the prone button, and the bipod deployment buttons memorised and so far that's it. I dare say anything involving a flying vehicle requires eight spiders to press keys for you.

Aye, I traditionally prefer games that require less than an eight hundred page instruction booklet for key bindings, but a friend has been banging on about Arma since we first played the original, and we're nearing the end of Ghost Recon Wildlands, so will need a replacement, annnd it was on sale for eight Euro, so. You know it makes sense.

OT: Built the second part of the work bench.

Also received the rekeying lock set (OEM, of course) for the RS so I can prat around with tibbe keys and cry at how annoying they are to rekey.

Well, there's no shortage of spiders in these parts but, I don't play shooting and war games anyway.

An hour of pratting around later and I have a re-keyed, and reasonably re-keayable, ignition lock.

Although in the course of doing all this, I did entertain the notion of a screwdriver with the transponder inserted in the handle because tibbe keys can **** miles of off.

Fair enough. I tried the GRW alpha and beta builds, left unimpressed. Even if they had just just two keys to bind these games wouldn't excite me.

OT: went early to an animal park today, took some nice pictures of the animals there (birds of prey (including one hawk), buffalo, deer, lynx, geese, ducks, wolves, ...). Had a lovely time with my lady, left when it started to get crowded at the entrance.

Oh, absolutely, it's not the highly cerebral pants story that gets me playing GR games, it's just the pissing about and having a laugh with a friend. Co-op games that we're both interested in are either on PS2, or few and far between.

I mean, I was part of the technical alpha test and this game was a sh*tshow back then. The beta came 'round and it felt almost as bad, just with story elements added. And then I felt it got repetitive within the first mission already. Maybe I got bored of Ubi-Open-World-Da-Best-Ever-Soft games?

I don't think either of us picked it up until waaay after the next game had come out. I think our biggest complaint is the driving physics are complete bum.

It's not hard to get bored of the Ubisoft open worlds, they're basically all the same.

Man I have worked my ass off. Last two weeks have flown by.

    Restored fork, with original decal.

Got the frame stripped and into primer over the past three days. Was a real bitch to get the nasty old paint off.

Just waiting on a decent day without gale force winds and rain. Finished the bars and stem.

    And restored the old cranks.

One more day of sunshine and I can get it finished and rebuilt.

    The trusty ol' Saitek X45 still works. Also answered the age-old question "How much upside down is too much upside down";
