That's not good enough. The West Country should be separate from the rest of southern England, then we can impose hefty import tariffs on cider, Cheddar cheese, pasties and cream teas. Oh, and ban holiday homes.

Personally I think the Tories know exactly what they're doing and their seeming incompetence is designed to manufacture a crisis - One which will 'require' the selling of public assets to American companies to get a 'fair' deal.
American-style laissez-faire capitalism is what this was always about. That's why they threw the DUP under the bus by creating a border in the Irish Sea, to appease the American congress due to their pride in the Good Friday Agreement.

Oh I think our global reputation took a hit a good while back.

 

More a reference to HMG current trend of labelling everything the do as 'world-leading' or world-beating... the rest of the world is looking on and thinking 'u wot m8?'

 

I've run out of things to throw at the TV every time Boris either lies or says 'world beating'.

Ah yes, one of the proudest moments of my life. Not the research I've done over the years spanning medical, aeronautical and automotive sectors, but watching a bunch of overpaid men kicking an inflated pig bladder around a field.
