This 'having hobbies' business is ****ing expensive, eh?

panel-mount phono connector, 10x total (5x red, 5x black) - I'm going to have to re-order these because dildobrain here has just realised that he's ordered connectors from different manufacturers... FFS... It'll do for prototyping, I guess...

And my second PCB this weekend...

One big tip for future PCB's, round off the corners :) Adds no extra cost, but reduces the stabbies! Is there any reason for the big empty space?

Willdo :thumb:. You'll also notice the complete and utter lack of mounting holes on this board, because...

This version is a pure prototype. This is going to be basically the central part of my next project, and there are a lot of unknowns right now - I just need to get my hands on some hardware! I see a lot of Arduino/A-N-Other microcontroller code in my future!

Plus I need to make sure that this circuit actually works! I cribbed the central design from someone else's open-source schematics - in theory it should be fine, but there's a big distance between theory and practice!

Yup! This is why I need development hardware to work with . I mean... I could breadboard or stripboard it, but it's so easy and so cheap to get prototype PCBs made up these days.

As promised/threatened, project thread is here: https://forums.bit-tech.net/index.php?threads/semi-custom-amp-network-audio-player.379426/

I bought a stick on headphone holder. It continually fell off FFS.

I shall have to get me one of those. Space is a premium in my flat.

I bought something called the "Elevation Lab - The Anchor " and stuck it under my desk five years ago, according to my email receipt. It's still there. Doesn't seem to exist any more, sadly, just this "pro" version which you have to import from the US.

Works nicely, saves space on the desk and actually looks quite okay.
