All rumours point towards a chip competing at max with the 3080. Most likely between 3070 and 3080, leaning towards the 3070. Not enough for a marketing victory.

And too late, because the internet will be flooded with glorious reviews of Nvidia cards long before there'll even be a reveal by AMD.

They will never beat Nvidia. The 3090 is literally Jen peeing up the wall to mark his territory.

If they can match the 3080? everyone's a winner. Because it has to be cheaper.

But yeah, until they invest what Nvidia has, get the share holders and ETC? hah, beating them is a pipe dream. However, at least on this gen Nvidia have had some bad luck by going Samsung.

IMO? AMD's best GPU release yet was Polaris. It was never made to beat Nvidia, but it took away their LOLprices on diet GPUs like the 970 and 980 and gave gamers what they wanted. I think it was a total success tbh.

Feels like the last page or so of this thread should really be taking place in the Nvidia 3xxx Series thread. I like GPUs as much as the next man but I find the constant relitigation of which GPU maker is the worst really tiresome at the best of times.

I mean... this is bit-tech after all, we're not exactly known for sticking to the topic . Especially in a thread that has 5.2 million views and just shy of 40,000 posts across 1,900 pages

    Back on track.

A refurb/returns Nokia 2.2 at a decent price for the good lady.

Why a 2.2? Well, it's been hard enough dragging her off her KitKat Galaxy II (I know!!! - thankfully she uses it for no more than messaging).

Anything newer is just too massive.

But it's in mint condition, 12 month warranty and on Android 10.

She seems happy as she can fit the lidl app on now and an internet page loading doesn't cause it to fit.

Oh, and a hard case. She drops them so often she'd hate a new expensive phone :)

    Ha, true.

It was an old Samsung though, the 'useable' space that allowed room for one, maybe two apps on top of the guff bundled on it and the mere suggestion of there being any RAM onboard was finally sending her loopy. :)

I think I may now root it and turn it into a remote or something, very handy size for that sort of thing.

    Arg!

Switch is coming today. Game is coming tomorrow.
Even though I initially expected both to come tomorrow. Unacceptable.

Tell your wife to hide the Switch, when it arrives and, not let you touch it until tomorrow. Then it will be like they both arrived on the scheduled day.

I played mainly LTTP with a splash of Super Mario World last night.

And as such this has been purchased today as the dpad on the joycons isn't up to much.

Initial plans were for a switch pro controller, and with SNES memberberries being particularly sweet for me, a SNES classic controller - a combined cost of £90.
This apparently gives 90% of both, with an excellent dpad in the correct place, memberberry colour scheme, and plenty serviceable for switch games proper at a cost of £35.

Also does the job as an occasional controller on MacOS for bonus points.

Good choice, the 8bitdo controllers are fantastic. I have two of them, the SF30 Pro - basically the SNES-style one above but without the grabby bits and with the UK/JP colour scheme - and the M30 - 6-button Mega Drive style pad.

I very nearly went for the one without the handles, but considered that 1/3 of the way into BOTW I'm probably going to regret it.

Yes, you would have regretted it. This pad is fine for about 1-2 hours or so and then it really starts to get really uncomfortable.

What a weird looking GPU, is that one the AIB 3080 cards?

    Sorry, couldn't resist.

Who am I kidding. Of course I'm not sorry.

Aye, won an auction - very lucky to pick up an early release of the GTRX3080 FESuperTi for £200!

Apparently it can do full 720p. Awesome.

So these are the wheels I bought for my car after cracking two of the old ones on a pot hole.

I went with 17's because I didn't think I would be able to get 18's on it, turns out the 18's would fit :waah:

I also bought the BMW centre cap's for them to use instead of the ones that came with them.

Tyres are 225/45 Continental Premium Contact 6 all round.

    Wheels are 17" Autec Kitano (Type K) 17 x 7.5" 5x120 ET32 on the Front and 17 x 8.0" 5x120 ET34 on the Rear.

Not to bad for £890 all in and then an old car stereo to my brother that was collecting dust for fitting them as I don't have a jack.

Pic's of Old wheels and the new ones.
