I have not had a good morning and am close to giving up on this entire situation.

    It's pretty much this.

If you've been sensible this latest talk amounts to no change. For the most part there is no change. Pubs, eating out, work, no change.

Unless of course you were planning on maybe protesting about climate change or against the UK intending to break International Law and writing a blank cheque for future Law breaking.

Then yes, it will have an impact.

Remember when this was the plan?

Just turn the sloping curve into a straight line that then flicks up at the end, and you have the real genius roadmap.

Just had to take myself and the 3 yr old for a test, no symptoms but we are going into hospital as he needs a scan for something else. Not sure how many have had it, not the most fun way to spend a Saturday morning.

One thing I can say with confidence, people who are doing home tests won't be going to the same depth down the nose as the nurses do... That was not comfortable. I couldn't shove something that far down my nose for that length of time.

And don't forget to do your part in making sure the Government actually can collect all that sweet sweet fine money:

But what if they are breaking the rule of 6 in a limited and specific way....

That should be fine right... I mean it's not as if our own government would ever look to do that... nope.. *checks notes*.. Oh FFS!

Eldest's been told to stay home from school until further notice, as a kid in her year has tested positive.

Despite this, her younger sister will be going to school as normal tomorrow. Y'know, just in case it somehow hadn't spread to other year groups yet(!)

Duhh, come on Gareth. Everyone knows this disease respects boundaries set by the school system. That's why it was safe to go back in the first place, and definitely not an iffy decision at all. All the school related infections cropping up the world over are isolated cases and definitely not an indicator of in-person-schooling being a bad idea.

Fun fact, a colleague of my OH is self isolating as his son tested positive.

This obviously was found out a few days after the fact. No test for him though so now everybody else and their families, well, we have to wait to see if he becomes symptomatic.

Trying to wrap my head around the restrictions at my kids' school.
A child in my daughters class has tested positive along with their sibling in another class. Those 2 classes are now on working from home, all good so far.
The children in question also go to the breakfast and after school club, which is run by a separate company and has closed completely for the next 2 weeks. The school are aware the infected children have been interacting with other children in the out of school clubs but still have the other 5 classes in school still.
