Absolutely. In fact it seems I got it wrong. The solicitor takes 30%.

They tried to get her to settle for one month's rent (£520 odd) and she refused. I knew she would do that too.

But yeah, this one was about principle tbh. I had the choice to leave it and decided to do it (even though I knew it would be more stress).

haha I doubt it ! couple of them new shiny Xboxes possibly (one for home and one for Ma's).

It's funny because like I said, this one was truly out of nothing but principle. Like, I already smug every time I floss with the Hugo Boss towels she paid for.

Ah well, at least I should be less skint this Christmas. If of course she doesn't rush to the building society, shift all of her Harry Rednapp gold and close the account.

It won't help her. It'll just get more expensive and the bailiffs will be after her.

    Eww.

Funny thing is I had never actually considered the fees when winning a no win no fee. I know a lot of people really wouldn't believe me but I seriously didn't care. That's why when they tried to settle for next to nothing I was like sure, it'll still teach her a lesson. For the first time ever I just went and read the T&C.

How does No Win No Fee work?
No Win No Fee agreements were introduced into law to give people who couldn’t afford legal representation the chance to access the justice they were entitled to.

Our specialist injury solicitors will take a success fee from the compensation you are awarded for a successful claim in the form of a percentage of your damages. This will be up to 25% but never more.

So hey yeah, not bad. I know I "paid" some insurance in case she tried to counter sue, but I don't think it was more than a hundred quid. Paid as in, they will take it at the end.I was advised to do this by the girls at the trust.

I really had no idea that when you enter into a court dispute as a landlord or lady though that you had to provide them with bank details and statements so they can just take the cash. Good idea that, saves loads in bailiffs and etc.

I've been on furlough since April 1st. :sigh:

Yesterday, just to get out of the house for an hour or two, I drove to work to gatecrash the monthly staff meeting (in the carpark) for those still there.

I learned that my exile ends on Sept 30th, and I'll be back in the office at least 2 days a week (and back on FULL pay!) from Oct 1st! :D

I am really smug this morning that I listened to @Vault-Tec and the nay-sayers and spunked a monkey (plus shipping) on a 2080ti last weekend when the fire sale was on due to the NVidia 3080 hype train.

I will hopefully sell my 1080ti with waterblock on ebay with a new set of list for £1 max fee for around tree-fity as there is a ton of demand for cards to tide people over until the non-paper 3080 release.

Assuming it all goes well, I may come out of it with a much better performing water-cooled GPU for around £200 total outlay. A new block for the 3080 would cost a good proportion of that!

Incidentally, the Founders 2080ti I brought is exactly the same size as the 1080ti it replaces, so should fit in my T1 perfectly.

I was tempted but felt like I couldn't commit, ended up getting 2 1080tis slightly accidentally so I'm glad that I should be able to make my money back on one of them!

I might, just might, be getting a resolution on a Geekhack GB from 2017... not that long ago based on some of the GB horror stories, but annoying enough just the same.
    Fingers crossed.

It wasn't nay saying fella. I know after my initial love of the cooler design it all turned negative but there were reasons for that, and it isn't because I don't like Nvidia (I don't I won't lie but it wasn't because of that)

It's because I have been here so many times before in the 40 years I have loved hardware and see the same thing every single time. I got it spot on. I should congratulate myself but I won't because it does suck for anyone who fell for his BS.

We made out like bandits dude, as I predicted we would. Make sure to put up some sexy pics with that block on !

    The top I bought.

It's a Hugo Boss green label. I found it on Ebay, the seller said he wore it once (he wasn't lying) and then lost weight. I paid £50 for it, he paid £350 (and I know this because I saw it on their site whilst looking for sales stuff). It's virgin wool.

Any way it came and it fits like I had gone to a tailor. So chuffed. Not chuffed about dry clean only, but then it is for "best" so it doesn't matter too much.

Forgot to mention above, but there was a "bonus" item at work yesterday too.

When I told my colleagues I was glad to go back as I wanted to get a 3080 around Xmas,
the same guy who bought my twin 780Ti cards 4 years ago asked for dibs on my 1080. :D

Doing this stretch, I managed to touch the floor with the tips of my fingers for the first time in my life today. I always hated stretching, even when playing football. So all my tendons are too short.

Soooo proud of myself, it's ridiculous.

I can just about get my knuckles to the floor but, my wife is extra bendy and can get her hands down flat on the floor, something I could never do.

Right then, who can get their elbows down?

More importantly in the short term however...

When I played football all, our goalkeeper could do just that. We all hated him. But at least we could make fun of him as well. The reason he got down so low? His younger sister forced him to train for her ballet lessons with her.
