Doggos, doggos everywhere and when you get bored *as if that was possible* then go up to Scotland for a holiday at Loch Pupper
No, no, no, apparently everything is going well, it's been a great success and not having test and trace running effectively in no way affects infection rates. #bojobollox
Want to guess which politician has been recently caught without a mask? Sammy Wilson aka that whiny DUP bi*ch who somehow always gets airtime on the BBC whenever Brexit comes up. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...sk-london-underground-tube-stasi-b581848.html *even more ironic than usual as his buddies never seemed to have a problem with wearing masks*
Whoopsie... Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date 's almost like they're not thinking this stuff through, innit?
Not like city centres all around the world have a history of "chucking out time" causing more harm than good or anything... oh wait.
The more I hear about this "world-beating" app that's bearing the NHS name despite having cock-all to do with the NHS... Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date The more I think Our Glorious Leaders may have been telling porkies.
Just what?! Test results from around half of all tests (based on the later tweet where they say that around half can be linked) cannot be linked?! Seriously?!
It's cool; they've updated the app. When you click on the icon of the updated version, it now just shows you a portrait of Boris Johnson against a Union Flag backdrop and a stirring soundtrack by Elgar, while a soothing voice repeats the mantra: "Believe in Britain... Believe in Britain... Believe in Britain..."
Serco has subcontracted 90% of the workers required to meet its part of the £108m contract it was awarded for contact tracing. Part of the subcontracted work has gone to Concentrix, a US firm which handled tax credits for a while and lost 90% of cases against it https://www.politicshome.com/news/article/serco-contract-tracing-concentrix
Even funnier when you know some people in Belfast where basically everyone knows someone who has at one point worked for Concentrix and not one of them can tell you anything positive about the company.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-54309603 Well for today I feel like veering from left wing to militantly right wing. These people need to be rounded up into vans, driven out into the countryide and the vans machine gunned, then burn the vans. It's the only way to ensure public safety. Ahhh, now I feel better for typing that.
Round them all up, take them to a disused airfield with a strong, high, electrified fence and give them a load of tents. Then they can infect each other to their hearts content and leave the rest of us to stay safe.
To me the greater danger isn't them spreading Covid, it's the level of stupid required to make the decisions that led to them all standing there waving their alt-right sovereign citizen placards around. Even if they all got super-duper-Covid and then SARS right after enough would survive for the stupid to still be dangerous. I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.
Daily Heil headline the day after: The nuke originated from Meghan Markle who was trying to create a mutant army to conquer Dubai.
My OH is currently in halls in the Netherlands (whilst I'm still in the UK) and had a couple of symptoms so arranged to get a test, told the flat just so they knew and first thing they all did was moan about the fact they couldn't have people visit/told her what she has to do (can't be near any of them, always wear a face mask, can't go shopping etc), none of them asking if she was ok, couple said to ask if she needed anything, but not till the next evening, not sure how she's meant to not go shopping if nobody offers to help her with that. Really sucky situation for those in halls I feel right now.
Anyone else had a text from the NHS asking to download their tracing app? Anyone have any inclination of doing so?
