Looks at first glance like they've got direct competition for the Nvidia lineup but the lack of 6700xt in the announcement means I'll probably end up going 3070 on price alone as the 6800 comes in pricier. That's assuming any stock of either is available!

As long as there are water blocks the 6900XT or 6800XT seems like a great option instead of a 3080.
I already asked Aquacomputer about it and hope to get a response in the forums soon.

For me, I think the 6800 is onto a winner here. £550 (?) for 16GB and 3070/2080 Ti beating performance. If they can have good availability, it would be the final nail in 3070 8GB before it even launched!

It’s very smart of them to leverage the gamer’s current favourite CPU Ryzen series and do “smart access”.

It is tempting. Although I'd want a waterblock right off the bat. Stupid temptation, go away!

I'd have liked a 6700 but no doubt that will be along shortly. I'll await how much the drivers make the doge howl before I put my imaginary budget towards any of them though.

Looks decent, I await reviews, seems like its going to be a difficult one to judge with its unique 5k specific features.

That teased performance does look sexy...

Now to await reviews and availability.

True, the extra memory would give it longevity. Problem is by waiting for confirmation of the 6800 performance and AIB models the 3070 will be gone!

CUDA does lean me towards the 3070 but it looks like the AMD is more power efficienct which will help in my sff case. Gah choice is a pain!

Or Nvidia cards will be available because AMD is actually an option:grin:

A bit more insight into the direct memory access and a few other bits and bobs.

Guessing we see a $ to £ conversion which means £650 and £580. Not sure why you would not just stump up the extra £70 in all honesty

True enough, 6800XT looks the better value. It's graphs were the only ones without the extra gizmos of rage and sam (?) switched on i noticed.

    Still, £650 though

Have to see what the actual prices are. Hopefully nvidia and amd suddenly have masses of supply and there's a price war. #moononastick

It's a big step up from the ~£520 you can grab a 3070 for (assuming Fe's are rare). If you're gaming at 4K then the 6800xt looks a great buy but for lower Res it's overkill (currently)

Well, if the conversion from the 5000 series CPUs is anything to go by, it'll be 0.935 Inc vat, so £610 and £540.

    So we're thinking about £20 more for 8Gb extra GDDR6 and a bit more performance in a 6800 over a 3070 (?). I guess it's aimed at competing with a 3070Ti (?)

I mean prices are meaningless till there's stuff on the shelves.

Oooh decisions. Will be wanting to see 1440p performance, still not comfortable spending more than £500 on a card.

    No rush for me though.

Well official pricing tba and that's base price, and will only go up from there. In dollar terms, it's $80 more than a 3070fe, appears to have a suitable amount of performance for that price, but very close to the price of an XT, likely prepped for a price drop if the 3070ti comes. Will be interesting to see the performance difference between them all when everything is equal. They were careful to show performance figures for the 3 cards with different settings on so it would be tricky comparing them against each other.
