In 100% agreement of Alien Isolation being in the number one spot. Phenomenal experience.

    Unpopular opinion of the day:

Soma in 1st followed by a vast sea of nothing, then eventually there is the rest of the genre.

    What, no space for Subnautica?

I know it's 'not' a horor game, but passing on the surface staring down into empty, featureless blue whilst the screams of a Reaper echo up from beneath gave me episodes of visceral instinctive fear. It's one of the only games I've turned off to come back to later.

Although SOMA and Isolation do stand out as the best ones. Isolation big twist when it happens is soul crushing.

Wonders why Dead Space wasn't included.

Realises Dead Space was released in 2008.

    Sighs.

    Alien Isolation was beautiful.
That first time I bumped into the alien I was truly scared ...
The second time ... the third time ... the fourth time ...

    Every damn time.

Im slowly walking down a corridor and hear the alien above me ... it drops down from the ceiling vent with its back to me ... literally feet in front of me ... it looks to the left ... it looks to the right ... I know if I bottle it and run, I’m dead ...

Duskers is a good shout, disappointed not to see Amnesia though, that first game I barely got 10mins in before closing it and never returning!

Can't say I was overly impressed with Amnesia, it had maybe two good jump scare moments but was about it.
For me, SOMA did a far better job of creating an ongoing feeling of unease.
