Case Mod - In Progress GN7-I596K-WC - MoonGazer

Good morning all. Let me introduce myself, my name is Steeve and I am French.

I present to you the GNZXT-N7-I596k-WC - MoonGazer.

This will be my first MOD. My budget is not infinite, so it will not be a "harcore-gamer".

I am going to make in 3d printing some parts for the Gundam, and others for the case. And maybe a shield for the graphics card.

The colors will mainly be black, white / gray and gold.

Sunday afternoon I prepared the case to receive the components:



And this morning I received a nice package :

A bit of component assembly to start.





An some news ...
Reception of part of the fans (4 of 6 received)
They are Coolmoon 12cm A-RGB.




The remote control (which will not be of use to me, because it will be controlled by the motherboard) and the specific controller.



Rear / front.



The controller:
- 10 A-RGB fans
- 2 A-RGB LED outputs
- 1 power input (on SATA socket)
- 1 A-RGB input
- 1 microphone input (guided by the music)

The specific catch.






The flowmeter, a Bykski 3-way A-RGB, with a plug that I installed.







All full of Bykski watercooling connectors, which arrives in these little bags:



- 16 connectors 10 / 16mm





- 4 caps (one on the flowmeter)



- 1 set of plug / valve / male-male connector / 45 ° connector, which will be used for draining the circuit



- 6 90 ° elbows




A 4-way A-RGB cable



Here is now my system made in 3d printing to install the 2 radiators of 360mm which will cool the CPU and GPU:
The prototype is currently in PLA, but the final system may be in ABS.



I don't have the radiators yet, so a piece of cardboard with the right dimensions will do ...




And installed on the case, it makes (almost) good.




The next pieces arrive slowly, but surely

All the 3d parts are done, I'm just waiting for the radiators to fix it between them securely.

I wanted to get myself a new power supply, but my budget is tight, so I repainted an old power supply that I had in the back of a closet.









I finally got the Barrow CPU block, and it's bigger than I thought.








I installed the fittings.




And here is a test of installing the CPU block.

The screws are too short to do as I want, but I ordered longer ones ...

I have a question. Did you chose the theme so you had one more reason to buy and build another gundam?

I'm joking , I like the theme.

Why did you write that some parts are not very nice? I see some good evolution in your log.

Intrigued by what you're going to do with the Gundam kit...

 

If he doesn't turn the entire inside of the case into a hangar diorama, I'll be disappointed.
I think I know why Lego is so expensive now, too. You've been hoarding them. (Lego is a legitimate fiat currency. )

 

So initially, I wanted to put the box on my desk, and put a nice image on the back panel, like a unicorn gundam, and an HG or RG unicorn inside. But I had to change my printer, and I took one so big, that it did not fit where I wanted to put it, and suddenly, it is on the desk, I no longer have room for it. case, so it will be fixed to the wall.
Since we will no longer see the back, and switching to a full watercooling configuration, I looked for some nice pieces, and it turns out that the white / gold will be the nicest, and rarely seen.
So I looked for a gunpla accordingly, so the Lunagazer.
I change its name to Moongazer, in view of future modifications, and the project has a name of "gunpla".

For the not very nice parts, a few parts have warping, so I reprinted them.
Ultimately, I think that PLA is not a good idea to support a radiator that will heat up, I think I would do the parts in PETG or ABS again.

I would like to make the whole box a diorama, but it will be a bit complicated for me ...
I wanted to put the gunpla in front of the CG, but it's going to be a bit tight, so I'm going to put it in front of the distroplate instead.
I'm not going to say everything I'm going to do, so you will be surprised

For the Lego boxes that you see in some photos, they are all empty, the sets are either displayed in the house or in zip bags, awaiting their turns.

The pump is already installed, a BYKSKI B-PDM3-COV.





I installed the distroplate in its location and put the tips on.






I only need the gpu wterblock, the liquid and some cables ...

I will be able to start thinking about where and how to install the gunpla in the box.

In the rush, I forgot to take pictures of the unpacking ... damn ... no big deal ...

Here it is mounted on the beast, and the size difference (about 25% less length) but much heavier at final.







I still have to buy the liquid, but I hesitate about the color ...
White? Yellow? Transparent?
The RGB LEDs in the PC will all be yellow / gold.
What do you think ?


On the other hand, I am working on custom parts to add to the gunpla, which I will print, either in pla or in resin ...

 

Well having to choose between those three colours, I would avoid yellow unless you are 100% sure that the shade matched the other yellow you have on the cables etc.

With white or transparent you have more leeway.

But if you get the right yellow shade for the liquid it could be extremely cool
