Sheesh... I'm not posting in this thread any more if everyone is going poke at me. Give a guy a break

As mentioned, these are Scanpan. Though I am shopping for one of the big-boi Le Creuset casseroles since I always seem to be over-filling the (now defunct, supposedly induction compatible but the hob doesn't like it) steel pot I have now.

I don't think a £650 (And £1000 RRP, £850 typical street price when not on sale) set of pans is "worth it" for anyone that's not a professional chef... but the CTX I currently have is well made, induction compatible, oven proof to 260, and is made of a non-stick material that doesn't wear or scratch off, and these HaptIQ ones are a revision of the CTX so should be as good or better.

    You bloody love it.

Meanwhile this pauper picked up a couple of these to aid some tidying.

On offer and with a code means just £31 for two of them.

    I like a bargain.

Edit: Now I just want to find an offer on a smaller box or organiser to stack on top.

I asked my, ex professional chef, wife what she thought and, she said she would not pay that much. Mind you, she also doesn't think £1295 on a headphone amp is 'worth it'.

    TBH, after buying the following...

    >100 G9 & GU10 bulbs
    7ft pool table
    Bluesound Powernode 2i
    PS5
    Samsung QLED TV
    Makita DLM533 mower

    .... oh, and the house...

... I don't think a £650 set of pans is much to complain about!

    Yeah but that's all essential.

Pans are, well, just kitchen stuff.

It's a pre-order, won't be delivered until April next year - assuming it hits its schedule, which let's face it it won't.

    upload_2020-11-21_12-37-8.png

ClockworkPi DevTerm, an A5 portable that looks for all the world like Uncle Clive never retired. That's a 65% keyboard at the bottom, with a teeny-tiny trackball above, and a 16:6 ultrawide 1280x480 colour display. That bulky thing sticking out of the top? A thermal printer. No, really.

It's modular, like the GameShell the company did before, and you can get it bare and accepting a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 3/3+ (not a 4, sadly), with a quad-core custom SOM, or a six-core SOM with up to 4GB of RAM that seems to be based on the RK3399. So, top-end model pre-ordered. Excite - it'll be a lovely birthday present if it hits its launch schedule!

It took a lot to convince my OH that a £90 kitchen knife was worth it. It was worth it, it was worth every penny.

So was getting a sautee pan that's oven-safe - that's a total revelation! Still want a proper carbon steel kitchen knife though. My current one does apparently have a high carbon content (if you believe the marketing fluff) but it's still stainless steel.

    Absolutely.

Now that those priority items like the pool table and amp are out of the way, more boring stuff today, 5 chairs to go round the... breakfast table it's probably called, scads of miscellaneous house things, and just choosing a desk now.

Nice! It started off well...then tailed off to somewhat uninteresting

I can't believe I've just spent £32 on cat food, good Ryzen money wasted :hehe:
