So I managed to cadge a lift over to mum's so I can finish up a couple of projects. Her mate picked me up (shielding, as am I). Got over. She said "I can take you home next Weds". I thought "yasss, no £15 each way for cabs !" so readily agreed.

Got here and fired up the PC. Looked at the date. 16th December. WTF? next Weds is the 23rd, when I was coming back over. WTF happened? I thought it was like, the 6th today ffs.

Panic started to set in, as I need to be here from the 24th on any way (going to aunt's and they like to pick me up from here). Went on Iceland... Good old Iceland ! got an order in for Friday.

That means I can now chill the F out for a week finishing the Chungus and my other PC, then enjoy Xmas without that oh so stressful journey.

 

<quietly tip-toes in through the back door and sits back down like nothing happened>

Promotion to senior role was confirmed today, along with a pay rise that takes effect from 1st Jan.
Also had bonus amount for 2020H2 confirmed (which I will also get in January).
Also had this delivered from work yesterday...




Think I've landed on my feet at this place!

Bagged a Phantek Evolv Shift Air on eBay the other night, I have absolutely diddly squit to put in it but its the first piece of the puzzle.

will probably be shelved for a few months while I get some bits to fill it over time

 

Brilliant case, I have to keep stopping myself buying another one..

 

no more work now until the new year.

 

I am also on my last day before the Christmas break. Unlike most years, I do not have 16 hours of work to get complete today so I'll be leaving the office when I want

 

I started my holiday until the end of the year last Friday and boy, does that feel good.

 

And to finish the evening, fun with a sniper....

 

One of only a few people left at work, its extremely peaceful, I can get a load of stuff done without someone bugging me. I can listen to music without worrying my headphones will bug someone and best of all I can fart without fear of judgment.... with everything going on in the world it can feel pretty suffocating at work sometimes with people badgering on about the same things I'll go home and get from the news.

I've also ordered pretty much all I need to build myself a computer, just on the lookout for a GPU and get Windows sorted and I'll be good to go.

 

Oh yeahhh, suffocating, farting ... maybe a connection LOL

 

Got everything we need for Christmas nom a noms.

Going turkey instead of ham this year, got tonnes of pigs in blankets and of course the Finnish boxes (no Dave, no! Too easy!) will be topping it off.

Oh and sprouts of course.

And yes it'll all happen on 24th as per usual. Don't think that was banned after leaving the EU.

 

I was working with a man this fall who like to say, "I use to cough to cover my farts. Now I fart to cover my coughs."

 

I've just finished painting the kitchen and now I'm enjoying this little darling from my advent calendar:

 

I'm having a hard time quantifying that taste combo. Hope is was refreshing.
