Because accountability and scrutinising those in power is not A Thing That We Do any more. Neither in government, opposition, or the majority of the media.

Imagine if the nation learned how to make a proper gravy out of this.

Excuse me, Port is fortified wine. Totally different thing. Practically a health food.

    Port is rancid.

I can drink Chianti and Cognac and nothing in-between.

I can't answer that as I wouldn't have the foggiest what belongs into it, I simply need people to understand that I wasn't making the wine in gravy stuff up.

Oh I know, my OH is from the mainland - they eat all kinds of weird and wonderful things over there. I mean, things with taste

And she adds wine to anything she can

My wife used to be a chef. She uses a dry, nutty sherry (say, Oloroso) for chicken gravy; red wine or port for a duck gravy.

Port is a red wine fortified with aguardiente, which is basically a distillate from grape skins (known as eau de vie in France, grappa in Italy).

Making your own stock is the best. :thumb:

Well, according to Trade Minister Greg Hands any claims that the NHS would ever be for sale are so "offensive and absurd" that they felt the need to vote against any legislation to prevent such offensive and absurd sale from ever happening...

"Ok, so you'll vote to ensure that thing never happens?"
