Hi all today I shaped the "fingertips" sections, I wanted them to be narrower near the end but not too much so this is the result.

    Cheers

    Episode 13

It shows the making of the connector, the backbones bending and a bit of acrylic cutting for the new handle braces

    Cheers

    Episode 14

You can see a super compressed cut of the 3 days of fingers shaping, the new rear fingers attachment point, and the fixing of the backbone gap

as for the general situation of the project I'm going to start with the finishing by tomorrow.

I'm not posting too much updates about it right now for three reasons:

    A) The clock is ticking, and it's getting louder the more we get close to the end of January

    B) I didn't want to show it almost completed but scratched as I think that it ruins the final impression of the project completed

    C) The locking system wasn't as straightforward as I hoped it would be, I didn't like the look of the first locking system even if it worked, now there is a new one simpler but more slender and compact.

There should be only one more Episode before the final presentation video, maybe two if it's too long for one Episode.

Maybe I will post a last 3D sketch on twitter so you can see how the fingers are positioned on the completed Hub.

    Cheers

Thanks a lot Kim , but I have to admit that a mill would make things a lot easier and faster.

The 3D sketch I told you about

I like this configuration a lot more for the fingers, having all of them spreading from about the same point gives the look I wanted and more flexibility on how I can position them.

I scrapped the fingers shells, they limit the fingers flexibility and cover the details of the fingers sections, I came to the conclusion that the fingers look already interesting and elaborate as it is.

    Have a nice day

Hi all, the new and last Episode of this little epic journey is online.

With the scrapping of the fingers shells concept and the 8 fingers having 8 sections now, the total number of parts excluding the fastening and the locking pin for Leetfoot is 115 parts

I'm posting this quick update before going back to the Spacelab for the finishing touches to Da Module Thingy so they look Dapper on the presentation Photos and Video :cooldude:.

    Cheers

Thanks a lot, I'm glad you like it too.
I find kinda funny how the case look on the little fingers , but I think it will be more evident, on other photos and the video.

There are a lot of photos, but there is also the video that need attention right now, that's why I can't post them all at once.

Here 4 more shots of the duo, this time the fans have different colours too in some shots

Some may have noticed that I removed entirely the external cable cover.

Now the I/O cables run inside the case beside the storage frame and pop out near the PSU, at least for now I need the power cable, so I thought that if all the cables get out from the same location it isn't too much intrusive visually, and the thick cable look is growing on me.

This way you get another advantage, when you move the case it's like having only one cable to manage.

Another reason for not having more shells on the handle is that it blend well with the mix of thickness and void style of Leetfoot's fingers.

    More photos Incoming.
