I wouldn't be that generous, perfectly obvious even to someone with the intellect of a DUP politician that vat + customs + charges to be charged apply...

    BWhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

At least 50% of them haven't done anything except stick their heads in the sand.
I'm dealing with some of the big boys and to see the mistakes they're making is laughable, they could have been ready to hit the ground running over 6 months ago, but nope I get to play the bad guy and tell them the 1 million labels they've had printed all suck and need redoing.

I very regularly order signed first edition books from London. So I asked the company selling them to let me know what arrangements they had in place and what would change after Dec 31, 2020. Their answer? "Well, we continuously spoke to the authorities about this ever since the referendum. We received the first real reply between Christmas and New Year 2020." Said reply was basically "Brexit happening. Changes coming. Be ready. More information to follow."

    Thanks, Uncle Bobo.

And yet somehow, using only government resources we've managed to be in a position to advise all of our clients on what they need to do for months for consumer goods, electrical goods, PPE, cosmetics, food contact goods etc etc etc

It's kind of important to us as it is our whole business, advising, testing etc etc for global markets, the information was and is out there, we needed everything in place early to ensure we could still work and get everything approved by the government, UKAS etc etc.

So that's it, in three years time I'll need a passport to go biking in Snowdonia.

    Wonderful.

So, brexit is both brilliant and exactly what they wanted, and yet the fact it happened is someone else's fault.

Not exactly Brexit related, but a condemnation of Tory policy as a whole

**** the years of austerity I've been teaching through, it was entirely an ideological decision and the damage it's done across the entire public sector is appalling. I literally see the damage it does to my students and the the 'Magic Money Tree' was always found by the Tories when needed.

Absolutely. Round my way they've closed things like Sure Start centres and youth clubs, which demonstrably saves money now by increasing the health, social care, and legal burdens later in life. And the "magic money tree" is called "government spending": it literally just has to tell the Bank of England to print more money and boom, it has more money to spend.

Okay, that's not sustainable or you get hyperinflation - but as a short-term stop-gap it works, and even long-term if managed properly. (Around three percent of US government spending is literally funded by printing new money, every single year.)
