That would be awesome. Any way to use your scan connection to get some info on expected stock dumps.....
Unfortunately not. Does the alert discord have it setup so you can embed their channels in other servers? Some retailers do have undocumented APIs that we aren't even told about though.
Thanks whoever posted about Parts Alert on Discord, after 5 months of waiting managed to grab an EVGA 3080 10G-P5-3897-KR from CCL. Definitely overpriced against RRP but life's too short. It is massive. Fire Strike has gone from about 7k to 16k. Happy!
I just managed to grab a PNY 3070 from Scan, who aren't gouging too much unlike Overchargers and Conning by Computer Larceny. It's a lot better looking IRL than the pictures make out
I like it because it doesn't look like it's abusing steroids. Seriously, wtf are the rest playing at?
The side profile is pretty sleek too There is some RGB to contend with, but I'm assuming it can be set to a single colour or off. (Not my pics as it's back in it's box upstairs now) The backplate is the real surprise package, looks super sleek and there's plenty of ventilation for that back section. The PCB is really short, something like the short 670/970s. I think it fits an alphacool block so would do well in in a watercooled sff build, although you've loose that cool backplate then. Sadly it'll be going in a customer rig, so i'd rather not pluck the stickers off yet. Annoyingly the few people who've been in touch about building them a rig I had to basically turn away as I couldn't get a GPU for love nor a ridiculous amount of money. At least now I've got that hurdle passed and can hopefully get a bit more attraction/traction.
Says 2.75, seemed slimmer than that but probably a trick of the design. Those 2 pics are ones I found online as the card's back in it's box upstairs and I haven't linked up my phone and camera yet to pull pics off direct. Edit: well that was surprisingly easy
It seems Curry's have finally implemented a queueing system. A few minutes ago, I got a PartAlert notification that Curry's had a 3080 at less than an absolutely WTF price. I clicked on the link immediately, and when the page loaded, I was told that I was #485 in a queue to view the one card they had.
Yeah they've had that for a while. Based on my experience of using Discord to get a 3070 / 3080 / 3090, you have 0 chance at Currys! I did however get a Ryzen 5600x, but they had thousands in stock as they were still in stock days later...
I can't use Discord at work, so follow PartAlert etc on my phone's Twitter app instead. I tend to class Currys alerts as "false positives" , and CCL ones as "HOW MUCH! (Yesterday they had a Palit 3080 for £999 & an MSI one for £1100!) I'm just waiting for the next 3080FE drop at Scan.
The entire GPU market has gone batsh!t crazy thanks to the 3xxx series. I really wish I hadn't sold my 1080 now, as it's already worth a good £100 more than what I got for it. Any guesses how long things will take to recover? Second hand prices for RTX 2xxx cards are also utterly ridiculous now.
