I would imagine some poor inventory planner came in this morning and is having a terrible day......

    Poor sod!

    ..or the easiest day ever.

"Due to an error with our inventory system, your item was incorrectly shown as available... etc.."

    Copy pasta

Yeah, external customers never used to be the problem.

It’s the internal Sales rep / product owner who earns a commission: so when are you getting all these cards in, so I get my bonus?

Reporting your back orders, trying to figure out what / if you can supply any.

Edit: Spent my early career as supply chain planner. Not in retail fortunately.

Viking website isn't working as well now...

Edit: Either their system is broken or they've deleted them all as mine is now a zero cost order with no items...

Looks like they just deleted the order, not even an email! I wonder if I'll keep the Honey Gold and Nectar Points!

They deleted your order, without notification?

I'm pretty sure they're required by law to notify you.

Well I've not had a notification and the order is effectively empty...

Did you say you placed an order? Is it active?

I'll have a look in a bit - can't do it just yet because I set the account up in a hurry and I've forgotten the password already. Waiting for a reset email.

Yeah, they're probably working backwards through the list, which means mine won't get cancelled until tomorrow

Had a chat with viking support, this was their reasoning: 'Thank you for your patience Peter. There is currently a problem with orders for the (Item Code or Name) and it
has been escalated to our IT team. You will be contacted with an update once the matter is resolved. My apologies for
    the inconveniences caused.' Sooooooooooo...

Edit update: 'All orders have been cancelled on our end, and all pending payments will automatically get cancelled as well.' So not looking great.
