Phone dun arriven. Excitingly, there's something rattling around in there - either a singular coin, or a spare key.

Sadly, finding out which will have to wait: the only tension wrench I've got for barrel locks is too small, so I can't pick it. I've ordered a cheap set of proper barrel lock picks to arrive tomorrow, so I'll have a crack at it then.

First drone I've had that's not a 'toy.' It's a tiny but impressive piece of kit. I'm still a bit nervous when flying it because if I crash it I will legitimately cry.

Right... I'm off to see what the neighbours are up to.

Please let me/us know how you get on with it. I'm contemplating a purchase...

These will probably have it open in no time. With zero practical experience (beyond a couple of instructional YouTube videos) I was able to open a safe inside of 10 minutes with a set of these lockpicks.

I hasten to add that I was given permission to pick the lock by the owner...

I was really tempted as well. Then I read about the new laws in Germany in 2021 and stopped being tempted.

Ah yes, the totally normal 30 socket power strip.

I purchase many of those from the local TotallyNormalHouseholdElectronics GmbH.

That looks like the sort of plug you have to wear no pants for when you use.

Safety first. It's going in an interlocked socket, i.e. you can't remove/insert a plug unless it's switched off.

Bonus points if you daisy chain another one from it.

You win the internet if you daisychain 30 separate 30 socket strips off this one.

Tickets for Russian Village Boys in September. My body will suffer so much if that actually happens.

And, presumably, a new house after the one that house fire is started in disappears?

Well I could have had a go in theory because the ebay listing said "loads available, please contact for bulk orders" or words to that effect.
Which made it even more surprising when the chap calls me and says "hey, we've got none, but I can send any variety of PDUs that aren't at all what you wanted if that makes you feel better"

It did not make me feel better. A full-height vertical PDU, rated for 32A and with that number of UK sockets is a rare beast indeed, at any price, never mind the £75 on the ebay listing.

I suspect if he did have a lot of them at one point they were commissioned items from a DC clearout (the model number on them turned up nothing), not liking my chances of finding another :(

One of these two looks to be about the best I'm going to do, though I would estimate my chances of finding something that specific cheap on ebay approximately zero.

There's one other close-ish on ebay, but a bit smaller, with only 2x C19s and wrongway angled BS1363s

Negative * negative = positive. So mathematically speaking, nothing at all could go wrong.
