    Hey all

Looking for some recommendations for a good button mashing hack n slash with an easy character progression/upgrade system. That I can play together with my 5 yo in coop mode on PC. Had a look around on steam but cant quite seem to find what I am looking for.

Looking for the hack n slash equivalent of Tyrian / Jets N Guns 2.

    Thanks!

Definitely Torchlight. Both in depth of gameplay/mechanics and graphical style.

Been a while since I've played them, so not entirely sure they fit your needs, but
    Hammerwatch
    Gauntlet
    Forced

    all spring to mind.

    Some curve balls
Dungeon Defenders (#1 would be my choice)
Helldivers (not hack and slash, twin stick shooter with objectives)
Stardew Valley (mostly a farming sim, there is combat in it though pretty basic)
Magicka (mostly about magic, and combo-ing magic abilities, though you can get away with easier spells)

    Very curved curve ball
Overcooked 1/2 (addictive co-op game that pretty much everyone will want to play. N.B. Will cause real life beat 'em up combat)

Had a quick look on co-optimus and it says they're all 4 player local co-op, only issues is I can't remember if any of them swear or not (if that's an issue).

Also +1 to torchlight as mentioned above.

My Boys love playing the first Dunged Defender with my wife. They started around 5 or 6 years in age.

Hope you enjoy it! I've not played #3, but I didn't think much of #2 tbh.

Dungeon Defenders 1 and Magicka would be my top choices too. Also Trine, which doubles as a fantastic stimulation/learning tool, with all the physics and shape drawing.

Thank you for the recommendations and link to humble bundle, bought!

Then I went through my Steam library and found a few more local multiplayer games. This is a good website to search for local MP games, just type in the name of your existing game
