The only time not to get a 2 post lift is when you're getting a 4 post lift instead.

I just did brief bit of research RE car stackers... The only time not to get a lift of any sort is when the hole in the ground is going to cost £50k

Agreed to purchase, or finalised purchase?

    If the latter then congratulations!
If the former, then congratulations, but also commiserations for what's to come!

You can buy some houses complete with holes in the ground...

Good news. Hopefully sans hole in the ground.

I once saw a video on youtube from a guy who had a car stacker thing installed, and although I couldn't comment on the cost, it seemed to fit in a regular height garage - Which, I guess, means that the 'hole in the ground' cost is minimal. I wouldn't stake my life on it, but I think it was this guy https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClqlaw57fZ4xm9qp8k0MLzw

Thanks  Agreed to purchase, pending the finalised sale of our own property. We had our offer accepted yesterday afternoon, and it's been absolutely non-stop since then - we are looking to be out of our current property in exactly five weeks (28th May), by which time all the conveyancing needs to be tied up and we also need to have an approved and in-place mortgage so that we can finalise the purchase of the cottage.

I'll post up some pics once I get image hosting sorted out... my subscription has run out so I need to cough up again.

We went sale agreed at the end of Feb and still don't have a move date - too many sales going though right now. Though the buyer is being ridiculously slow.

    WD Black SN750 1TB M.2
    Seagate Firecuda 1TB 2.5"
    Noctua NH-D15 Chromax.Black

Keeping the AX860i, 700D and 1080Ti for now. Hoping it'll be a good jump form my 6700K setup. I know AM5 and Intel 12th gen are due at some point but this'll probably last me a good while before DDR5 and such become mainstream.

You chose well. Also, AM5 should arrive next year, Intel 12th gen (Alder Lake-S) will be big.LITTLE on desktop.

A couple of things to improve my videos and making use of the spare HD's I have (both of our systems are SSD only, mainly due to noise).

    First up this little guy:

Fitted with the two 2TB Seagate Barracuda drives I have lying around its performance looks to be pretty decent for my use case:

(Note - this is hitting both drives at once and seems to be near enough maxing out their sequential reads).

I specifically went for this model as it has the extra USB ports and SD card reader (plus it was like £2 more than the same version without the ports).

Secondly I splashed out and got a crazy expensive Mic:

£36 on Amazon with a voucher code applied directly taking it down to £27. Everything shown in the picture was included thus at the very least it would still get used even if the Mic was naff.

Turns out its actually pretty decent and is a massive improvement from my Arctis 7 Headset Mic. I mainly use it for Discord and voice recording in my streams / video recordings where it does the job perfectly. Sure a Shure SM7B would be better but at 10x the cost (for just the Mic) I would hope so!

I will need more storage space eventually but for now this will do. :)

From my experience, the old "suitcase full o' cash" trick works wonders with solicitors, if you explain the predicament and tell them something like they get a x% bonus if they can complete in 5 weeks, they could probably make it happen (though I'd still recommend constant chasing). Just feel bad for the poor buggers going to the bottom of the queue

Baby SVS (SB1000 Pro) for the games room, to do some much needed low-end support for the in-ceiling speakers.
