Interesting to hear, I was looking at Ducky 65% in passing and decided anything smaller than 75% would be too hardcore / limiting.

I think even this or TKL would be problematic for work, as I seem to use the keypad a fair bit. Definitely on invoicing days...

Not sure if an additional keypad would do the trick, I think a full size would be best for that side of things.

There are some Magicforce 83 Brown boards left on eBay...

These browns feel a bit 'gritty' compared to the reds, but I like the added resistance so far; I'm running it on my daily driver PC, and I'm happy so far.

Definitely good on the space saving front, and should be perfect for the tinkering aspect.

 

Oh, absolutely, my Filco doesn't have that either - It's from the time before RGB took off, so the only LED's are the traditional 3 in the top right.

I also pondered some edge lighting around the edges of the cutouts, but then I think I should just modify the K70 RGB instead.

I had one the same as that. That was the one with the keys that twisted about 40' each way. It was truly horrific. I'd imagine it will be a pretty good board with some actually decent switches in !

 

It's worth salvaging IMO, because the parts that are pretty rubbish - the switches and the caps - are easily replaceable. The case is pretty solid and even though it's pretty light on features there's nothing actually wrong with the electronics. Though I do need to give everything a damn good cleaning and I'd like to try and remove the rest of the faded lettering on the plate.

 

Yeah the deck itself was nice. Had brushed alu. Even the keys weren't too bad (like the caps). It was just the switches. Dear god they were awful. Mine was the HCMAN, but it was identical.



If you held one twisted you could almost twist two keys into themselves :O

 

Making a note of that biltong (and to use 'RADIO' to get 15% off my first order whenever I get around to it).

Have you had that brand before? Or are you doing a trial run?

 

The night I finished the paint I was so elated at how it came out I may have done this.

And then had a "buy all the parts" reversal. This time I was in seek of a chain tool and a spare tube, and then did my wad on clothes lmao.

 

£60 on a BMX chain? JFC.

 

An entirely reasonable thing to do!

I suspect, allowing for inflation, I spent just as much on chains when I was time trialling.

 

That's what I said the next morning. lol. The thing is I had the Interlock V2 on my Terrible One Ruben.



So it turned into a bit of a pissing contest. "Well if that one has a £40 chain and this one is better what do I do?"

One thing I do know is that it's a chain for life. I sent it to my friend who is into metal porn (like, the hard material not the music) and he spent hours looking at what it was made of and he reckons it was a bargain. Apparently they pulled a tank with one.

I usually do this on a resto. Buy cheap parts to begin with then either replace them toward the end or over time. The seat, post and clamp cost me £100 too. Pretty crazy tbh.

It's worth it though. The Barcode is totally my grail bike. One thing I know is it's effing strong. It snapped both of my weedy chain tools (hence the order of the BFG one there). It's on, but I had to use a vice lmao.

 

Just giving it a try, my usual Jerky guy has been pretty hit n miss of late so I'm having a poke around to see what else is about, although I keep getting tempted to try making my own.

750W is what Nvidia officially recommends. Obviously, if you're pairing it with a 12 or 16 core monster, a higher capacity would be sensible.

 

I was assuming it was the add 100w to lower noise/heat/etc
