Hi, first of all id like to point out my observation of the Pc modding community or market is somewhat in a serious decline and stale mate,, but correct me if im wrong? Anyway over the past 20 years or so of being a modder and part of several online forums/groups etc there has always been something new or something that every modder starts adopting? i call them fads.. so i have produced and sold all kinds of Fads over the past few years and have jumped on all kind of fads and new trends as they have come along. over the past year i have lost everything i once had and have even gave up on a lot of stuff i once cared deeply about and im ready to give away my last thing i have to the community i think. I have had this idea for a couple of years now, i have designed/prototyped it. i have done everything except produce and market it because as soon as i do someone will just copy and produce it faster than i can, So i really want to tell people what it is and put it out there but im always reserved to as i would be losing an amazing lucrative business venture..im no longer producing or selling pc conponents in anyway as ive had to sell most equipment to stay afloat and survive which brings me to my dilemma. Release my concept design to the public for free and give the community/market something new to give it a boost or sit and hope i can one day afford to put it into production and make it into a profitable success. I know some will be curious as to what it actually is? well i really want to tell people, its so hard to say anything though as it will surely be taken on by another company and then its nothing to me anymore.. all i can say is its nothing any company sells or have ever sold, the concept has never been done as far as i know in the modding community, its multiple items needed to a modder? so wouldnt be just a single purchased item, it can produced in multiple materials and colours to suit a modders asthetics and taste. just curious what other people would do in my situation? if anyone can guess what my products/concept is then i will give it away free to the community
I’m confused on multiple levels... if you want to go down the production route it sounds like you need investors, have you considered crowd funding? If it’s easily replicated and profitable then what stops a Chinese factory undercutting a future invested finished product? It’s easy to make a cheap knockoff do you want a business or are you not arsed and want to just share a cool idea?
me also haha,, yes investors or crowdfunding is something ive thought about but never really pursued as its not my style tbh, also exactly what you have said is definitely going to happen, thats why you would have to be first and pre produced to be ahead from launch.. also exactly what you have said at the end also, i dont think im really arsed anymore, atleast in this sector of business anymore.. as stated above about kickstarter lol, having to tell what the product would be on my part is soomething that just doesnt make sense, lets just say 10,000 on tooling for moulds and dies and 30000 on an injection moulding machine plus atleast 10k in different materials and packaging startup its not something people would fund without having some info about the product, if i give the concept away some company will beat me before i even get anything.. I will probably just end up releasing it for free but right now just curious if anyone could guess what it is haha
So is it a tool for modders or a component? Also modding isn't dead, it's probably more alive and widely done than ever, but has moved out of specialist forums and onto social media.
could get an IPO but it wouldnt stop them varying the design to there own implementation of the concept.. so a pointless exercise really! and in some parts of the world it doesnt make any difference at all. its not a tool no, its basically an accessory for inside the PC and every single computer has it inside haha. you say modding is alive more than ever but i would disagree.. looking at my old competitors sales says a different story this month? also my sales went on a serious decline before i stopped just about a year ago, they might have picked up since i stopped selling pc accessorys but i can just see it declining from a sales point of view.. anyway i guarantee nobody will guess it lol,
What are/were you selling though? What was your store? Why people stopped buying from you may be for other reasons; price, availability of stock, lack of availability to get everything they need from your store, customer service, delivery times. There's a multitude of reasons why your sales would be declining despite enthusiast pc hardware sales being at an all time and modding being as ever if not more popular than ever. If you're talking about watercooling gear, then: a) modding doesn't require watercooling, and b) the main watercooling manufacturers have become big enough and we'll established enough so that their main POS is now their own website. If the thing you're talking about is already in every pc, then people don't need it. I call shenanigans.

nope and yeah i jumped on that fad and sold boat loads of them haha its not watercooling related and people dont need RGB EVERYTHING BUT ITS OUT THERE LOL...i never said it was a necessity either.. also i said no one sells it and never has and yeah it must be shenanigans lol. because god forbid someone has something new that you cant think what it is haha just atleast have a guess instead of going on about sales and the market lol..seriously i know the market for accessories haha. yes i never could understand object orientated programming lol, so i just stuck to CAD unfortunately..
everything is a derivative of something else and i yes i derived my own idea from someone elses idea which turned out to be a whole new idea that no one has thought of! you get the idea though dont you LOL!
how is it ********? and how is it a scam lol? im not asking you for anything but a guess haha and i was talking about giving it away for free to the community because i no longer really care about it tbh, ive been uploading lots of stuff to thingiverse the past few days because basically i have no use for the files/designs etc i have anymore and would rather them get some use than just never be used anymore. its people like you that make me not want to share stuff and frankly i hope you apologise when i do release it for free.. oh and here is my thingiverse haha,,and thats not even 10% of all my files/designs etc.. ill be uploading everything on there bit by bit when i feel like it.. https://www.thingiverse.com/gkool/designs its sad that some of you decide to act like children instead of just simply having a guess haha
So you're inviting people to play a guessing game with absolutely no contextual clues other than it fitting inside a case... and they're acting like children? Just upload it. Or don't. 's up to you. If we've made it this many decades without it I doubt its loss will sting too badly should you choose to abandon it unseen.
