Yeah I've just been stung by an adult renewal, a child renewal and a first passport for my youngest. Was quite glad mine still has a few years on it!

Even though I always wear glasses too I think in these days of automated biometric scans it makes sense to have your photo without. It's much easier and more reliable to take your glasses off than try to make a computer deal with variation in distortion or glare at either end of the process.

I did mine just before the Covids (was supposed to be in America for 2 weeks), so that's £7.50 down the pan so far

You should add Battle Pope to the collection. I'm not sure if it came in hardback at any point, but I thoroughly enjoy reading it.

    Arduboy FX:

    arduboyfx-hero.jpg

I had two complaints of the original Arduboy back when I reviewed it. The first was that you could only load one game at a time, and to switch games you had to plug it into a PC - which sucked when devices like the Gamebuino could do as many games as you could fit on a microSD. The second was that the display's a bit crap.

The Arduboy FX fixes one of those: it now stores a load of games, and comes pre-loaded with 200 of 'em. Sadly, the display's still crap.

Tune in to a future Custom PC to see exactly what I just wrote above but somehow stretched out into 800 words!

It's amazing how many times you can paste in "yada yada" to pad things out...

Great, just let us Bit Techers get in early while the values are low, before they sky rocket and make us all millionaires by Christmas!

Somewhat uncertain about plopping so much on a chair sight unseen, but I do see lots of good things written about these so... Secret Lab Titan XL.

This one is for the other half - given the back issues she's had recently, her chair is more urgent than mine (not in photo, but these do have adjustable lumbar support). She has a habit of not liking chairs though, so if she doesn't get on with it then I'm pretty confident that I will - hence the 'fat git' Titan XL model... If that turns out to be the case then we're definitely into "take a trip to John Lewis to try out Herman Miller and Humanscale" territory. I get that they're awesome chairs, I really do, but £580 to £630 for a basic chair is a lot of money to spend... However, as she's demonstrated recently, ****ing up your back is no joke.

My chair actually has pretty good back support, although the seat padding is... laughable, and the tilt lock doesn't stay engaged - like @perplekks45, I will also never buy from 2ndhnd again. So before I get a new chair I want a motorised standing desk :thumb:
