Amen. Save that stuff for farming simulators.

    I'm surprised there's isn't a Warhammer: Farming Simulator yet.

That was one of the biggest problems I had with Borderlands. I spent too much time trying to work out whether the pink stripy murder pistol I'd just picked up was better than the purple spotty tickling shotgun I already had. Rather spoiled an otherwise enjoyable game.

Agree one hundred bazillion million percent. Spent more time in the inventory screen than in the game world.

If you think Doom Eternal is the best FPS ever you either are too young to know better or really like to be forced to use certain weapons for certain enemies in certain situations. To me, it feels limiting. Definitely more limiting than older id titles, at least. Even Doom 2016 felt more like a shooter to express myself than the almost-feels-scripted battle sequences of D:E.

While obviously subjective and a constantly moving target, I find Doom 1/2, Duke 3D, Blood, Shadow Warrior, Dark Forces, Jedi Outcast etc are much more replayable than some recent titles - even when I enjoyed the recent titles a lot when playing them. Even Amid Evil doesn't have that spark. That said, neither does Hexen, although that might be because of all the switch hunting...

I used to be able to 100% the first level of Quake 2 blindfolded. Still, I don't think I ever got bored of that game.
