I'm unconvinced he's changed his mind because he's now voting as a 'person', it sounds like he's changed his mind because he can't get staff at the pay he's offering and wants freedom of movement back to solve the problem, and he wants the supply chain issues to go away that brexit has also caused. I'd love to know what his 'business' reasons were for leaving.

Oh no, definitely not concerned. I live in Ireland and Brexit is more of a curiosity than anything else.

Maybe a Polish guy owned a competing bar.

Imaginary, along the lines of; As soon as we are out, the Magic Brexit Pixies will find us huge quantities of money, give us world leading trade deals, make everything wonderful and Boris Johnson will have a glowing halo above his head...

Maybe Boris does and we're all just too daft to realise that it ain't hair but a halo!

I see we're at the "deploying the Army in an effort to keep supermarket shelves stocked" phase of the Brexit process (and, yes, COVID-19 ain't helping). Which the industry is somewhat cool on. Probably because the plan appears to talk about deploying 2,000 Royal Logistic Corps drivers... to fill a gap of 100,000 civvie HGV drivers. Spitting in the ocean, that.

Oh, and Vodafone's become the latest to confirm they're bringing back roaming charges in Europe. Because of course they are.

Only fair that the army gets to play with trucks in peace times for a while before they inevitably have to be called in to hunt down self driving trucks gone rogue in a couple years:p

What the kakistocracy need to do and, the road haulage industry are asking for, is to add European lorry drivers to the list of essential professions, so they can come back over here to work. Instead the idiots completely ignore them and do bugger all.

Ah, but if you do that then the farmers will start clamouring to add fruit-pickers to the list - and then the core voters will be wondering exactly why there's still a bunch of Polish people pouring over our borders after we Took Back Control®.

Whereas if you keep the foreigners out you can just blame the empty shelves on COVID-19/the malicious EU/lazy dole recipients who don't want to work. (Delete as appropriate and/or politically expedient.)

The Tories will blame anyone or anything, other than their own incompetence and failure to act in a meaningful way, unless that action is financially beneficial to themselves and/or their friends.

Saw that coming: the emergency powers introduced for mainland-bound lorries leaving England are to be made permanent. Which means Operation Brock, which everyone in Kent's been bitching about and was supposed to be shut down in December 2020 then October 2021, is now going to be a permanent fixture.

Well, you got us there, Mr. "Patriotic Englishman Tory Ex Player & Former 10 Year President of Cambridge Rugby Club" and your careful use of a coloured emoji at the end of your name to look like a blue Verified check at a glance.

Oh, wait, no you didn't. You lied.

Now, I'm not saying everyone who voted for Brexit is stupid. I am, however, stating here and now quite plainly that the ones who still seem to think it was a good idea trend towards that conclusion.

    Pfft.

For posterity, the chap was badmouthing "remoaners" for spending all their time taking photos of empty shelves in supermarkets to whip up more Project Fear against the Great and Powerful Oz^WBrexit, and shared a photo of full shelves he'd "taken today."

Which was actually taken by a Lidl press photographer for use in a press release. About how the company was handling the shortages. In January. In Northern Ireland.

I don't understand the confusion. He's a politician, no? They lie, that's what they do, no? So, essentially, he could maybe get attacked for showing off how good he is at his job. Pride, one of the seven deadly sins. But other than that....
