Still too early to count our chickens, but the memorandum of sale on the new place has been issued and I have the mortgage offer in-hand. The only real hurdles now are the searches, which could uncover all kinds of horrors, or if the seller changes their mind about selling.

To tie into the above topic: there's a parking spot right next to the kitchen wall that'd be perfect for installing an electric vehicle charging point!

Go for the PHEV, because "self-charging" hybrids often have worse fuel consumption than full petrol cars.

I don’t mean the “as much use as a chocolate teapot” light hybrids but, the ones that actually do something useful, like Toyota’s Prius and Yaris.

I've wanted a cabinet for a long time, a bartop is the best compromise, since I don't have room for a full stand-up cabinet.

I still do want a full stand-up cabinet, and I will have one some day! But when I do that I'm going to wire it up with a proper JAMMA harness and a real arcade monitor so I can swap in real arcade hardware.

    It will happen.... some day!

    I have just the thing....:winking:

My LAN host bought a sadly neglected Streetfighter JAMMA (generic decorations) cabinet a few years ago and fully refurbished it with a new loom, repaired and redecorated cabinet, controls.

He installed a MAME ITX PC with JAMMA adaptor. It will be for sale at some point, as he needs more room.

Could have easily been in the ruining thread. Skimmed a ceiling this afternoon. Objectively the worst DIY job that exists.

My recovery program has consisted of a solid two hours, in the bath, with YouTube ASMR restoration videos and music courtesy of yesterday’s job of whacking speakers in ceilings, and the best part of a bottle of wine, and I’m feeling remarkably relaxed. Is good.

New sofa gets delivered tomorrow. Can't wait to get rid of the overpriced crap we have now...

Mind you, this is from Yet Another High Street Furniture Store Wot Always Has A Sale On, so this too will likely turn out to be overpriced crap in a couple of years.

Do it. Everyone needs at least one JAMMA cabinet in their lives. Fact. Some of us need considerably more, apparently.

That's why it is probably a good thing I can not afford one of those electric dollys. My flat would be stuffed to the rafters :D

    Oh and yeah.

Just covered every face of the sub with card, then wrapped with clingfilm, then reinforced every edge with more card. Needs another wrap, but blew out my knee :(

Still I am well stoked. Once I've done the final wrap it's ready to go. I am slowly starting to feel very excited.

Care package of knives on Saturday!

(I live in the actual woods, and make bows out of trees for a semi-living. My ex wife kept all my tools, and when I left South AL I lost what I had accumulated until then. I skin out a couple of animals a year, and I have hides in the freezer and sinew and bones in boxes for crafting. These are essential tools, I don't carry knives off my property. I have nothing to prove.)
