    Loving the community!! ❤️❤️

Does anyone else experience issues where the site will occasionally load slowly ? Hopefully the discouragement feature is not being used on me :p

Also the staff page of the members is missing a lot of the staff such as @Mister_Tad and @Shirty , whilst those with status of “lover of bit-tech” are included !!

Neither Mister_Tad or Shirty are members of staff.

Yeah they are - if you go on their profile you’ll see they’re super moderators :) They have that tag that can’t be faked, as custom user titles can :p

Not all moderators are staff, nor are all staff moderators.

Technically, *nobody's* staff any more 'cos nobody's getting paid. 's why DevDoge changed the "Staff" label to "Lover of bit-tech."

True, although there's still a 'Staff Members' tab in the Notable Members section.

    Notable Members. Notable. Members.

Yes, I have woken up having mentally regressed during the night.

Staff members were literal staff (well, kinda - I was freelance), meaning they got paid. The mods are volunteers, meaning they didn't.

Staff members wrote for the site, or maintained it, or what have you. Moderators did not, but kept (keep, technically) the forum clear of spam and the worst arguments.

But bit-tech folded, so now we're all volunteers and nobody writes for the main site any more. DevDoge maintains it as a time-capsule and keeps the forum ticking, but it's out of love for the community - 's not his job any more.

Yup. I was the news editor during The Media Team's ownership, and during Dennis's ownership before, and for a chunk of its life as an indie before that. I left a little while before the site closed, though.

I apologise - I shouldn’t have jumped to conclusions on something I had no idea about :)

I have noticed that the site has been loading slowly lately. I even did a custom speed test. As it turned out, the problem is precisely with my provider, and not with the site or hosting.

Some IPs run websites from shady places like the UK through an extra layer of security. :p:

You call the UK shady, when you live in Texas? Black pots and kettles come to mind...:hehe:

Hey! Most of our horribly janky government websites are fixed now... mostly. I don't speak for San Jacinto, though. That place might as well return to Mexico.
