    They've been raking in tax from fuel prices and inflation so they could do very much more.

    The current PM is AWOL mumbling about deep state no doubt and his replacements are trying to out fascist each other so I'm not holding my breath

    So inflation is being driven by all those workers who have effectively had either no pay rise or below inflation pay rises since, I dunno, the Tories came to power.

    Company profits rolling in and more billionaires than ever, jog on.

    And don't forget the future huge costs of making up for decades of chronic underinvestment in infrastructure just to rub some extra salt into the economic wounds.
