You're not alone - I'm not a fan either. Unless I've been using it wrong, all beard oil does is make my beard feel oily for the rest of the day (I suppose the clue is in the name :winking:)

Beard oil is as much for your skin as it is for your hair.

Do you get an itchy face when you have facial hair? Do you get dry skin when you have facial hair? Use a decent beard oil. You only need to apply it a couple of times a week and you really don't need much - most people only need a couple of drops. If it feels oily or greasy afterwards then you're using too much.

Some people might not need it, that's fine. If I don't do anything then I get a lot of "beard dandruff" - beard oil clears it right up. I tend to keep it shorter these days, but when I let it grow out I used to use other products as well. My hair is wiry af, no matter how long I let grow it just grows out rather than down - whether it's regular hair or my beard. I'd look utterly ridiculous if I didn't look after it properly. Now I generally keep it short enough to avoid this problem.

    Clove oil melts plastic....
Couldn't find any ground clove at the shops, so decided to grind some I had at home.
Loaded it in to my cheapy spice grinder that came with my mixer, ground up nicely and left the spice grinder on the side to wash up once I finished sieving it and doing some other bits.
20 minutes later while washing the main body of the grinder smells like burning plastic and the inside is all pitted.
Bugger, new spice grinder time. Probably glass this time.

TIL: Don't change a deleted thread title to "Ignore" or "Do Not Ignore", it's not worth it.

Maybe try to find a less divisive middle ground option, like "Ignore or Don't Ignore, it's up to You."

TIL: Human hair can puncture skin. Just had to pull one of my beard hair out of my thumb. Stings like a paper cut.

When i was young i had a Pilonidal sinus that was infected so became a Pilonidal cyst. VERY painful.
It was incised 5 times, the wound packed with beeswax soaked sterile dressing, which was pulled out every day to drain more pus, then repacked. This was done for 5 days running each time.
eventually it was excised under general anesthetic, with what i later discovered was an experimental dressing applied. it was sown onto the area.
3 months later had Hepatitis. many years later told by a retired theatre sister of 40 years, oh that was a theatre infection.
    Nasty little buggers hair.

There are streets in Wincanton named after ones in Ankh-Morpork from Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels
    • Morpork Road
    • Hen & Chickens Field
    • Peach Pie Street
    • Treacle Mine Road (my favourite!)

Turns out Wincanton itself is officially twinned with Ankh-Morpork. :eeek:

Harry Corbett, creator of Sooty was Ramsden's nephew & used to play piano in the first restaurant at Guisley

TIL at 6:30am that the ifixit kit has the exact type of tweezers you need to remove a tick from the lower leg of your panicking OH.

Interesting start to the day, no long walks through the tall grass in the woods for her until winter.

Hopefully it didn't require the ifixit explosions as seen on Jayztwocents YT ads!

No, we'll be hawkish about it.

Typical, the first tick a Finn gets is not in Finland but here.

TIL - Kiss (the band) don't have makeup artists. They've always all done their own.
