    They've got a nice draft free spot in the living room :)

    You say that though.... when we mentioned getting him some guinea pigs to a number of people you'd be shocked the amount of people who said "But you don't have a garage/shed to keep them in" I just stood there with a confused face like lolwut?

    These little guys will probably live better than me!

    Starting to feel like I'm heading towards not feeling like death.

    I'll take that. Still testing positive but at least it's not a constant hacking, nose run and it feels more like a regular hammer than a lump hammer smashing my head in.

    There's something incredibly satisfying about doing some much needed cable management.

    It's not perfect, but it's about as tidy as I'm prepared to make it.

    Looks good, but I'd label the mains leads with what's on the other end, so the wrong one doesn't get pulled during maintenance/upgrades.

    You mean you don't simply memorise it all then swear at yourself 2 years down the line when the space where the memory existed has been recycled to store Other Useful Information (song lyrics, or how long's left until dinner usually)? :hehe:

    One benefit of the vertical PDU is that none of the mains leads are longer than about 40cm, so no issues tracing them.

    Still, I may go through and label more, if only because I have plenty printable heatshrink left.

    The cables for the in ceilings throughout the house in particular (pink ones), I only know which is which because of which channels on the amp they’re attached to.

    I should have labelled these XLRs, didn’t think I needed to since again they’re just 30-40cm long. But tracing them is a real chore due to how busy it is back there.

    the heatshrink won’t fit over the connectors though, and I’m definitely not in the mood for re-terminating 15 XLRs

    Finally got Xbox Cloud gaming setup on the Steam Deck. No idea why I didn't do it sooner (laziness probably!). Really glad I did as it works way better than I thought it would. Probably a combination of the smaller screen and "console" controls but it was really hard to tell it was running remotely / via cloud. Granted I have 900/900 connection but honestly, I have found the cloud gaming on the Series X to be a bit "meh" on the same connection (not even Wifi!). Need to try a little faster game than Hitman 3 but at least it gives me more options. :)

    Just seen the materials for the outbuilding delivered to the new house. It's finally happening!

    Also got the roofers in at the old house, fixing the company's complete screw-up when I had it re-roofed originally (water continuing to pool on the flat roof to a depth measured in inches, leaking uPVC fascia, wrong insulation and no ventilation gap leading to a build-up of condensation that rained down inside and moulded the roofing boards. I haven't had a ceiling in the master bedroom for about three years - it was originally scheduled to happen slap-bang when COVID hit...)

    Would have been better if the roofers could have waited until we'd move out and the room was empty, but whatever - I'll take it. Means that once we've moved out we can get the estate agents in right away and get the pigging thing listed before I finally hit the bottom of my savings...
