People eating with their mouth full is one of my rage-for-no-real-reason triggers.

    Passed my theory test

I mean... I've already done this test not that long ago: I passed my full bike test back in 2017 and the bike theory test isn't that far off the car one. I'd have been extremely worried if I wasn't able to pass the car theory test!

Irritating that I have to do the full damn thing again though.

Teaching my three year old Cumbrian grandson Cockney Rhyming slang. Last night he arrives home from nursery school and says to his dad "I'm going up the apples to have a Jimmy"

    My work here is done.

We don't have them often but today is one of those days. Its Fish & Chip Friday tonight!

    Nom.

For the cockneys, I literally mean fish and chips, nothing about honest Shakira body parts.

School's closed, and there's a foot of snow to play in. Shame the back garden's still under construction, mind!

Confirmed pay award at work. Approximates to 11% which combines a normal annual uplift (that everyone in the business receives) along with a specific uplift related to my progress towards the next stage in my role.

Pretty chuffed with that tbh.

I could also be done for child cruelty as he also shout 'Up the Hammers' and does the crossed Hammers sign when he sees Grandad's team on TV like last night. His other Grandad is Man Utd and not impressed (really). No doubt he will be getting a Man Ure shirt for his birthday.

[The scene, a child's birthday party]

"Look what we've got you lad, a Man U strip, pop your t-shirt off and you can try it on!"

(the young lad removes his t-shirt, revealing a full chest West Ham tattoo)

A week or two ago, I got an email from HTC, saying my new VR headset wouldn't ship until March 10th at the earilest.
Come March 10th, Parcelfarce rock up to the office with a box for me. IT'S HERE!

As long as I don't get a three year old to call him a grumble. No thank you Grumble :)

(How many are off to Google it ..and how long befor my ban  )

Already getting him to confuse his Nanny (married to ManUre Grandad) by saying I've got me nanny on when he walks in the door. He gets it she doesn't ... Love it.

My OH just teaching me the translation of some Finnish sayings.

    My favourites so far:
"Look at somebody like a cheap sausage'"
    And
    "The issue is a steak'"

Finally. Finally got a working build & deploy process for a static site generator. Been bugging me since yesterday evening.

It's a pretty neat workflow. Write content locally, build & test locally, push to private Github repo, Github Actions workflow runs build process, Github Actions workflow deploys to Azure Static Web App. Azure Static Web App is free for sites less than 250MB in size, includes 100GB bandwidth per month, and includes up to two custom domains (with SSL certificates). I'm using the Hugo framework; I tried to use Pelican, but the Azure Static Web App service has out-of-the-box build profiles for Gatsby, Hugo, and VuePress. Seemed far easier to go with a solution that's validated out of the box and update the workflows as and when needed, rather than have to design something completely custom right off the bat.

Now that I have a working proof of concept I'm going to totally wipe what I've done so I can build it as I want it from the ground up. Though I think the first order of business is to start migrating content out of the existing website...

Certainly a far cry from the school website we built ~25 years ago where we wrote the HTML by hand in Notepad! <cue Four Yorkshiremen sketch>
