Hi Folks, I need help on purchasing a new LCD monitor.

I currently have a 24" Dell. I sit approximately 2 foot away from the screen.

If I was to buy a 25.5/26/27, how much further away would I need to sit?

And if it was a 30"?

    Many thanks.

lol u can sit as close or as far away as you want.

the monitor is not in control of your life. say it with me "the monitor is not in control of my life"

however are you referring to HD viewing distances by chance ?

if so check this chart out:

    http://www.lycaeum.org/mv/anagrams/viewing_distance_resolution_chart.jpg

to be fair any of those monitor sat 2 feet away you will benefit from full 1080p res and higher.

Isn't there elf&safedy issues about sitting to close to a screen beacuse of the brightness? doesn't it make you blind like looking at too much porn?

Errr... if you sit 2 feet away from a 24, and you want a bigger monitor... why not sit 2ft from it LOL.

Move further away to counteract the larger size, and you needn't have bothered upgrading :)

Save yourself a lot of cash... move your chair nearer your desk :)

    LOL....

seriously though.... why consider moving because you upgrade to a larger screen? They'll have the same pixel pitch (probably), so an icon that was 2cm tall on your old monitor, will still be 2cm tall on your new one. Everything will appear the same size... the idea is a larger working area.

Stay the same distance from it.
