    godmonkey, he is just going to do RAID0 so no need to warn.

    No, you lose everything if one drive fails in RAID0 or JBOD. That's why it matters that he has backup.

    Am I missing something here, cut I thought JBOD stood for Just a Bunch Of Disks? Doesn't this just shows the disks individually? I know with Raid you get redundency (except for Raid 0, hence the 0) if the loss of data doesn't matter to you (backed up) then Raid 0 will give you the best performance.

    JBOD gathers all the disks you want to include and gives you, in effect, one disk. That's how I understand it, anyway. You can partition it as normal.
