Horses for courses; I couldn't care less about a MMO. I'm really looking forward to this purely because it is a single player.

So you though a company which has made a name for itself developing giant single-player RPGs was going to suddenly pivot to making an MMO?
    Okay then.

Fairly sure Cyberpunk 2077 was never meant to be an MMO...

Count the commercially successful MMOs that have not been based around Wizards, Orcs and Dragons.
The number is so extremely low that no established developer would dear treading into that territory.

As for the Cyberpunk 2077 development cycle, personally I believe they only had it on the slow cooker until they where done with Witcher 3 and its expansions.

I'm not saying the genre is to blame for the lack of commercially successful games in it, I'm saying the shortage of commercially successful games in the genre is scaring devs away from the genre.

I don't want an MMO. I want single player games of the scope of Witcher 3, because then I actually get involved and interested. Hell, Witcher 3 even managed to make fetch quests less boring, because the world was so alive.

But a sci-fi/cyberpunk W3-scope RPG? Oh, yes please.

^That's what I think CP2077 is going to be - TW3 set in the future.

i've no idea why would anyone think Cyberpunk 2077 was going to be a MMORPG :eyebrow:

makes no sense at all, especially considering they have Gwent as their cash cow...

Indeed, if it was going to be an MMORPG it would have three failed indiegogo campaigns, 5000+ broken promises and a shitty company with one well known dev at the helm behind it.:D
