That was not a great race. If they return to Qatar I hope it's at a different track, because that's just not suitable for F1. Who knows what Jeddah will be like, but I wouldn't put it past Merc to give Hamilton a new ICU for Abu Dhabi, crank the engine up to quali-mode and annihilate every one down the straights like at Brazil. Well, possible rear wing shenanigans pending.

Wolff has said they will use the Brazil engine for the next race, they had reverted to an older unit for Qatar.
Not the greatest race, but it has been a great season - love the fact, barring DNF’s, this is going down to the wire.

Why? Lots of spectacular high-speed corners, but crucially can still get overtaking done. Viciously sharp kerbs which cause issues when lazy drivers run wide at full speed, but no walls to have nasty shunts against. Works well for MotoGP and F1 imho. Better than Abu Dhabi.

There's just no chance of overtaking anywhere other than the end of the straight, it might be good for Moto GP, but not cars as wide and aero dependant as F1 cars. While I very much enjoyed listening to Alonso's radio messages as Perez hunted him down (what a shame the vsc spoiled that), teams also won't take as big a risk running the tyres so long next time, now they know what the penalties for doing so are.

I hope the team will always retain the Williams name.

Now he's chilled the fudge out and realised there will be no 5tg championship, he's really grown on me.

Max pushing just a little teeny bit too hard. To quote an awesome movie, that was some of the best driving I've seen to date, right up to the part where he crashed.

It was still impressive, like watching Schumacher in the days when he would go out and just push the car visibly harder than everyone else dared.

    I laughed my cock off.
It was a brilliant part lap, and I was seriously worried I'd be loosing my money @ the bookies if he'd pull it off, but a lap was not to be.

Now if only Bottas won't let MV through within 0.5 seconds of the start I think my bet might still have legs

Since when has it ever been final? I hear about more appeals than I do other cases. Closed or open. There's always an appeal.

The fia set a precedent with Max's penalty for not slowing on yellows. Combined with almost taking out gasley and mazepin, to not get a penlty is a proper cop-out.
