Hi all, A buddy and I have been playing quite a bit of DayZ while in lock-down. It's quickly become my goto game and I'm keen to see if any other bittechers are playing it? It'd be great to add a few people to steam that I might actually find in game now and then! I almost exclusively play vanilla DayZ on the Spaggie servers. Thanks! FuSS
They did a free weekend a while ago it massively took off, it's got about 15,000 players at the moment. Definitely my favourite online experience ever!
It's Cherno+ There's a lot of new areas added in, expanded cities, areas make more sense. It's still a clunky mess, but enjoyable in a group.
Oh yeah it breaks all the time. But the huge variety and flexibility of what can happen is second to nothing. It's all about not getting too wed to your character, diving in, and seeing what mad adventure awaits this time!
i keep dipping my toes in, and my recent plays have been really good. i play solo [no one i know plays it] and it come on so far and to be fair pretty much everything i had problems with has now gone. it also runs great now too.
I've really been enjoying it. I played a little yesterday evening with a good friend, we took the car for a spin down the coast, picked up a couple of newbies to have a chat with...driving along "bang"...bullet shatters the back window and kills one of our poor newbies....I leap out of the speeding car and find a patch of trees....my friend turn it around and drives back the way we came to lure out the sniper....sniper steps into the road behind the car....I shoot him in the head....fun! That's a pretty simple 20 minute example - we've had kidnappings, people force fed human meat, car races, being chased in the pitch black by someone laughing macially due to Kuru....you just really never know!
Sounds like the old mod, I played so so much of it back in the day! Gave myself a bit of PTSD from the stress of playing it
I played it years ago... got fed up of having to restart and taking ages trying to find the most basic of equipment only to find it then die five minutes later of hunger. Killed the fun and haven't played since.
If you're the kind of player that hates to die then it'll never be a great game for you sadly Don't play to grind and gather stuff. Every life is a new mini adventure. Treat it like Outer Wilds and you'll love it! Took me ages to stop getting mad and adapt, but happy I did.
