A bit on the slow side compared to the 840's but some nice features included.

1TB of Crucial SSD goodness for less than 500 GBP!! I can remember buying a 256 C300 for that price, a 512 M4 for that price. OK OK, maybe not the full TB but still that is pretty good going. So have we reached the point where development, both speed and capacity growth will slow?

£315.99 for the 960GB would be a winner.

Still capped @ 500MB/s? Too slow if you are already used to it (not me, I'm used to 2GB/s).

a 960Gb drive is $600 in the US.. that would make it very attractive if the price had been ported over properly :/

It has... You forgot to add state tax orin the UK ... VAT.

That makes it £473ish.. which most are at £499.99inc or there abouts.

I am at work, but I havent found a way to squeeze a PCI express SSD in to my laptop - which is all I have at home :-( Also I am not sure what game I could run that would find much of a difference between two raided M4s in my sony laptop and a 2Gb / s PCI Express SSD. There are few games if any that run at queue depths high enough to utilise your card. Or are you using a larger array on SATA ports?

The write speed on the 120GB flavour looks a tad slow, other current and previous gen SSDs at 120gb shown on Scans website include uppers of 300~400mb/s write speeds or is that just the speed they state on all of them?

^ It's because the Crucial M500s are using NAND which is twice the density of all the other drives therefore we have the performance of a 60/64 GB drive but with twice the capacity. This is also why Crucial refrained from releasing a 60GB version as it would be truly pedestrian compared to other SSDs.

Meh, the Samsung 840 is cheaper and the 840 Pro only costs a small premium. The M500 would be awesome if Samsung didn't exist.

It's also worth noting the 840 series have a cashback offer until the end of May:
