Jennifer Hale's voice acting is first class. Every game character she voices, she brings to life. And she has done about 90 or so games to date.

I suppose this film might work with the Bioware peoples in the mix. Would probably work better if the film was done in full CG but with motion capture acting throughout, like Avatar.

I agree, but the last 30 minutes was so disappointing after the clever ending to the book that it spoilt the whole thing for me.

Playing female makes me feel like some lonely perv in his parent's basement who faps to softcore hentai of his favorite videogame characters.

I did, the first playtrough. I played as the 'good' guy. on my second playtrough i played with a female shepard and played the 'bad' euhm.. girl?

 

Frankly I dont want to spend 30 hours looking at a mans arse though. Plus, powerful women Cheesecake! Fem-Shep kicks arse, it's not hentai with helpless Japanese chicks, huge boobs and tentacles. (Actually that's "Mass Erect", the spin off series).

 

If you've read the I Am Legend book, the film was pants!

 

Films will never live up to a good book, but it can bring a new sense of life and realism to a story even if it lacks the real depth that good books provide and perhaps even encourages some people to go out and get the book and subsequently get a more in-depth and compelling version of the story.

That said, I only ever managed to get through the first two books of the lord of the rings trilogy, the third one began as a huge mess as it tried to describe the huge battles that were taking place, something that was portrayed rather well on screen and in a simpler form more easily digested.

 

I enjoyed my good run through with male shephard as well as bad with female. The female run was a bit jarring, as I had to break out of my personal character of white knight to be ruthless bitch. It didn't take too long to get used to though haha. I still think of my first generic shephard as being the "true" story though, which is what I'm guessing they'd go for with the movie (mostly paragon choices with some liara on the side) so that suits me but I can see why it wouldn't for a lot of people.

The thing that I don't like though is I can't imagine them getting across the depth of the world, the "science" behind every aspect of the game that you can read through in the codex really fascinated me the first run through, and absorbed me into the narrative more than the game would have otherwise.

 

I do, I don't want to romance the male other characters...

On the other hand, in KoToR I play a female, as it's completely 3rd person, and they've got great buts...
Darn...how old am I? *sigh*

 

You can romance Liara in ME1 but in ME2 you didnt really have any female romance options other than a cosy dinner date with your PA and her offering to feed your fish as your were out "bringing justic" to known space.

 

I played both as male and female Shepard. Who wouldn't? ME isn't a game you only play through once.
